Kyle (owner) runs a first class operation. They're honest, they keep you in the loop, and they do quality work. They will tell you if a maintenance item is urgent or can wait, which I REALLY appreciate. Like lots of folks, I'm not made of money, so knowing which issues or wear items need fixing or can be addressed later lets me plan accordingly. They're nothing like the dealers, who always seem to find 15 items that "MUST BE FIXED RIGHT AWAY!" I have full faith in this shop! Service: Engine repair

Toyota Rav 4 was burning oil. Took it to a nationwide car shop. They recommended I start with a dye to check for leak. It wasn’t leaking. It was burning oil. So I called Kyle over at My Car Shop. He recommended adding a oil preservative after the oil had been changed. And also use a quality motor oil. And I’d be darned it worked! By Kyle dropping knowledge about the real problem it saved me time and money!!! Highly recommend and wouldn’t go anywhere else’s Period!

Kyle was amazing. Our check engine light went on while we were on a trip. They got us in the same day we called. They diagnosed everything. Fair pricing. They were great at communicating and keeping us up to date (they had to order a part so things took an extra day). They got the job done quickly. We were very impressed with our whole experience. My go to local shop! Quick turnaround, reasonable prices, flexible & knowledgeable. I have an *old* Audi with a myriad of issues but never felt taken advantage of like in some other shops in the past. My last service came with complimentary girl scout cookies...can't beat that :)

Took my Chrysler 300 Srt8 for a diagnostic normal diagnostic cost around 130-140 $ don’t remember. They said they needed to tear apart my engine because it needed to be done to find out what went wrong and that would cost 300$ and all they did was take off the valve cover and saw that the lifter was broken and determined that I needed a whole new engine I left with a quote of 13000$ . Thank god I took it to jeep dealership and they did a tear down diagnostic and determined that my engine was still good and just needed a rebuild which costed me 4000$. All these guys did was take off the valve cover and determined that I needed a whole new engine for 300$ they didn’t even do their job! DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE !! I had a knocking noise in the front suspension of my wife's 2019 Subaru Outback. We moved to Reno a couple of years ago and have not needed any auto repairs other than routine maintenance that I had been doing at one of the big chain tire stores. I had actually gotten a recommendation from a tow truck driver a couple of years ago that My Car Shop was a reputable shop. Google reviews looked good so I brought my car in. They diagnosed the noise and determined that it would probably still be covered by the drivetrain warranty and recommended that I take it to the dealer. They also found that the alignment was way off causing severe wear on the inside edge of the tires. As a side note I recently had an oil change at the tire store and they missed this. I had new tires and an alignment done. My car was ready on time and everything went smoothly. We took the car into the dealer and they found the problem, the steering gear box needed to be replaced. This was a full day job. We are thankful that Kyle runs an honest business and had a best interest in mind. My Car Shop is now my "Go To Place". I'm done with the big franchised tire shops. I want to deal with a locally owned company that takes pride in their work and cares about their reputation. Thanks for the great service Kyle! This was my first experience with My Car Shop. I needed exhaust system repair. I called on Tuesday for assistance and my appointment was made for Thursday morning. My truck was promptly looked at and an estimate was given. They started work immediately and found the problem, replaced a section of tail pipe within 1 1/2 hours. My noise and performance issue was fixed. I am pleased with the integrity, professionalism, and total care I received from everyone from the desk to the mechanic. Thank you.

Kyle is a fantastic mechanic. I’ve taken my Volkswagen to him twice and not only was he efficient. He is also very informative and good at what he does. He gets his projects done with quickness if he knows you use your vehicle regularly. My family has always trusted his work more than your average mechanic. If he sees a problem, he takes care of it and he cares if you’re safe when driving and you can’t ask for anything better with an honest mechanic. Highly recommend 5/5. 10/10. 100/100. Thank you Kyle!

I've had two opportunities to use the services at My Car Shop. The first was over a year ago when my alternator pulley failed on I80 and left me stranded on the way to work. While waiting for the tow truck and being new to the area I searched auto shops. I called and spoke to Julie who said absolutely they could work my car into their schedule so I had the tow truck driver drop it off at their shop. Three hours later I was back on the road for a very reasonable price. Since that was the very best experience I could have hoped for I sought out My Car Shop again for a routine oil change and a few other minor electrical issues. I spoke to Kyle of concerns of whining noises from the front of the car at high speeds so he and his master technicians diagnosed front wheel bearings and we rescheduled later in the week to repair that problem. My car is now in tip top shape. Kyle, Julie and all of the My Car Shop crew are consummate professions who perform A+ work for a reasonable price. Kyle discusses cost in advance, keeps you updated through the process if he finds any other issues and completes the work when he says he will. Yeah, business like this still exist - who knew!
