Only commercial grade piece of workout equipment is a bike with a sign that say's "only for z-fit use". Rest of the gym equipment is some discount stuff you'd find in your uncle's garage. Treadmill incline has been broken the entire time I've been a member. Route setting is a mixture of gross and boring since Christian left. Gym seems consistently busy. Staff can't be making much since they are 17 y/o on average and have high turn over. Put two and two together and you have to wonder where owners are putting their money. Certainly not giving any of it back to the gym equipment or community. Tape on bouldering walls seems paranoid and looks tacky. Sigh.

My man Blake was the life of the party but in a safe way. He made safely fun! He quickly went over the rules and made sure we understood everything. Great guy, and very nice to talk to

I feel super lucky. I had never climbed before, and I wanted to try it for a personal reason, but it's already become so much more than that original catalyst for me. Christine is amazing. I love that she doesn't just tell you what to do, she explains exactly why. The facility itself gives us everything we need to explore the many facets of climbing. I feel like I'm truly learning the skills and the safety measures, and that makes all the difference. I also have complete trust in her ability to guide me and to keep me safe. She keeps me going even when I doubt myself. She listens to me and really hears me, and puts up with my occasional dirty looks :). I realized rather quickly that she was incredibly knowledgeable, EDUCATIONAL, and also had the perfect personality to be the trusted and effective trainer I need, so I actually asked her if we could pick up a day of regular fitness training, as well. I am always excited to work with her, because not only is she a health and fitness expert and an expert at reading individual needs, she's also just a fantastic person. I truly couldn't ask for a better guide in this journey that I'm on.

The gym looked small but nice in the pictures, so when my family and I saw it was near our hotel we were excited to try it out. Upon entry, we were told we would not be able to take a top rope belay test because they were "understaffed". A little bit annoying, but I'm more of a boulderer anyway so I didn't care too much. But then we were then given a tour by the one staff member who was working the desk, which took about as long as a top rope belay test would've taken... I started my session on the bouldering wall in the back, half of which was slab. The boulders were fun, and grades felt pretty accurate. There was a variety of different types of problems so I was quite pleased. After climbing everything in the back, I went to the front wall where the cave section is. Personally, I love steep climbs a lot more than slab. And because I actually enjoyed the slabs they had I was looking forward to some cave climbs. I was let down by a lot of very basic problems, left right left right left, pull hard on small holds sort of climbing. And the grades on this wall felt about a grade stiffer than they should've been. Now if they were actually creative and fun boulders, I could forgive that, but these were not. It is very very rare that I enjoy slabs more than overhangs. There was only one problem on that entire wall that I can honestly say I enjoyed. Overall, the setting was just decent, but at least it was consistent. I should also mention there was a youth team practicing while I was there. I'm fine with that, I actually coach myself, and they weren't in the way at all. The coach had a drill and a setter's hold bucket with drill bits and such that she was using to set some moves for the kids. That's great, except when the practice finished and the coach left, she just left the drill and holds and stuff on the bench, which doesn't seem very safe. The head setter at my gym would've had a fit about that. Tldr; not super friendly or professional staff, mediocre setting, and safety issues.

I have been to numerous gyms around the US and have been climbing at Zenith for about 1.5 years now. I'll be moving to Texas in June, but it would be a crime to not to at least review the gym that I've been fortunate enough to call home for so long. The gym has some of the nicest staff who run incredibly accessible classes for all ages and set some amazing climbs. While membership can be a tad pricey, you get more than the cost in value (both in the form of discounts and in the aggregate of money spent per month). For those looking for specifics: - Zenith has two bouldering walls. The front wall has a 45 degree surface that blends into a massive cave. The front wall also has top-outs which lead to a weights area (easily accessible for strength training). The back wall is less steep and has a medium overhang. This wall has lots of space for slabs and technical boulders. - Zenith has a large amount of top rope, auto-belay, and lead climbs set on 35ft walls. There are just four (I believe) auto-belay anchors, so getting top rope certified really expands the amount of big wall climbs available. Personally, I haven't done much lead, but the climbs look awesome and have lots of variety for all styles. - Zenith has a smaller side area separate from these. This area has a large (with slopers and rails) campus board, a pull-up/beast maker area with bars, and (one of my favorites) a tension board. For the uninformed, a tension board is a standardized board that has LED lights under the holds, meaning you can customize your climbs with the Tension app. - Zenith sets a very large swath of difficulties. There are generally, boulder-wise, at least three or four V8+ boulders at a time, giving plenty of projects for the more advanced. There are tons of intermediate climbs designed to teach specific concepts. There are also tons of beginner climbs for new folks. - They also host yoga and calisthenics classes. Though I haven't been involved in them, they look very fun and difficult enough to get value in them. Zenith is Springfield's climbing hub; if you are looking to get stronger or just have fun, check them out! While your hands may be in tatters by the end (which for those less experienced, that is part of the sport; they get better and less fragile as you climb more and develop better technique), your spirits will be high! Climbing is one of the best sports ever; the climbing community is generally humble, encouraging, and supportive of everyone no matter the skill level. Have fun!!!

Had a birthday party for our four year old, and everyone had a great time. The staff were very friendly and patient, and all the kids worked their butts off while climbing, which is all you can ask for. Fun gym to climb at too.

Fun, unique experience. They have smaller walls and automatic belay lines for kids and different bouldering levels. They showed the kids how to hook themselves up so they could work everything on their own with just minor supervision. Only complaint was it's very pricey. The youth day pass was only $13, but then you have to pay another $7 to rent the shoes and harness. After rentals and tax for 2 kids the total was $44. The kids also complained about their hands hurting. After 30 minutes of climbing their hands were bright red with a couple blisters forming. We left after about 1 hour.

My group of friends and I love hanging out here for a afternoon of fun. It is the perfect spot to get your workout in and have a insanely fun experience. There are many levels of difficulty and even classes for you learn more. Each path is labeled to help you know what may be easy or challenging. The courses include auto belays, top-rope belays, bouldering, and free climbing. There is also a workout section and small shop. The place is super clean and the staff is insanely friendly. I highly recommend for anyone looking for an adventurous time.
