Not nearly as good as it used to be. All the fresh selections have been cut way back. Meat and seafood are now down to one little corner, the deli department was empty, most of the prepared foods are gone. Looks like they still have solid choices for produce and grocery. Very strange though that they took out the registers in the back — so if you park in the garage, you have to check out in the front and then walk all the way through the store.

ASHLEY'S Marketplace in South Orange Village is a great destination for fresh produce !! So much better than your local Shop Rite. And a wonderful selection. Ashley's also has a phenomenal bakery. They have great cakes for any occasion. And their breads are very authentic and rustic. Also, I purchased a Half Chicken from their prepared, already cooked case, and it was delicious !! 5 Stars for Ashley's.

We came in here because we happened to be near by and wanted bread. We ended up buying all sorts of random things we didn't intend to purchase. They have a nice variety of quality product. Although we didn't buy any meat I remember thinking this meat and fish section look pretty good! It reminded of me the Amish Market in Manhattan. A mix of what you need and product from around the world that excite you when you find them. Price wise they are on the higher end but I think it's for the convenience of being near the train station and the place you pop in before heading home like we did.

Expired cheese on sale? Not good. I should have checked before buying - the best before date is either 6/9 or 8/9 - couldn't read clearly. Nonetheless expired considering I bought it on 8/24. I tasted it and it was so sour, which prompted me to check the expiry date at home.

1st time visiting Ashley Marketplace. Spacious. Nice and clean. Prices a little steep, quality is good. Nice variety. My only issue was no one acknowledged us, we were left waiting in front of a hot food bar until the gentleman heard us complaining about the service. Gonna give the benefit of the doubt... It was lunchtime, maybe staff was on lunch. Otherwise nice place. I would go back. My co worker loved the whole experience.

Somewhat pricey, but they carry a diverse variety of high quality items. I would definitely check it out if you go to Seton Hall, but don't expect for this to be where you should buy all of your groceries (unless you're rich). If you need mixers for drinks this is the place to go! My friend and I like to buy our sardines from here.

Average experience...higher prices and lower quality stuff.....seemed little dirty ...also NO refills on coffee.....seems like they are trying be like whole foods but not as good....average experience overall...
