Did the scratch test on my “turquoise” when I got home. Is it supposed to have white underneath?

I have stopped at this shop numerous times traveling from CA to NM and have bought several items. I collect Native jewelry and am interested in knowing about the artists. On my most recent visit I purchased some beautiful earrings for over $300. I asked the woman who usually helps me if she had info on the artist and she said no he doesn’t come in much and gave me a name which I told her was a common name in the area and not much to go on. If she had looked at the back of the earrings she would have seen the artist’s name and that it was nowhere near the name she gave me. however the young woman working there was very helpful and gave me the correct info. Considering how much I have spent there over the years, I was very disappointed with the service from the older sales woman and her lack of knowledge or even effort to help me. This is not the service I expect and will think twice about spending money here again.

I came across this shop 3 years ago while passing through on a motorcycle ride, and made a point to stop in again on this trip. Very friendly & helpful people. High quality jewelery, pottery, and wood carvings.

Every time I drive through Grants I stopped in to see this wonderful establishment! There's great food awesome people and the jury there is out of this world. Our family goes to buy jewelry there as often as we can, you won't find anything as original or the craftsmanship anywhere else! Highly recommend making this a POI on your next trip !

The people here have good, open spirits. Definitely did not feel like we were objects to get money from. Everyone was interested in finding what would best fit our--what we needed/wanted. It's hard to explain how good it feels to be in Chaco Canyon Trading Company. The store has so many beautiful things. The prices were almost all half off, although the original prices were in line with normal tourist shop prices. There are many handmade items, such as jewelry and kachinas, made by local artists. An excellent experience and a beautiful store.

The people here have a vast amount of knowledge about native American jewelry and crafts ;over the many years of buying from them ;I have found their honesty and integrity is beyond reproach. The quality of their many products is superb.

Although they don't have the same depth of selection and quality as Richardson's or Perry Null in Gallup, NM, Chaco Canyon has a nice selection of reasonably priced turquoise jewelry. Well worth the stop.
