My car was involved in a fender bender over the Thanksgiving holiday. I've heard wonderful things about Bill Whalen and his mechanics in the past so I brought my 20 year old car in for repairs. I'm an older woman living on a limited income and I could not have gotten better service at a better price anywhere else but here. I was treated as a priority, not just a fender bender by his mechanics who kept me in the loop about everything they were doing. The price for the job Bill charged me was "compassionate" and not just about making a dollar. If I could give his business and the people who work here 10 stars, I would. Good people, lots of integrity.

Limited inventory due to Covid-19. We bought our last 2 vehicles there. Good cars, good price, no problems.

Horrific experience. Horrible service. Here's the story: We went to Bill Whalen because we had been told that they sell good cars and are good people. So we go there and decide we want the 2012 Chevy Cruze eco. The first problem we've had with them was right after we purchased it. It took them over 2 weeks to get the car inspected and give it to us. And this wasn't just because it has so many problems. They wanted to take their sweet time, only working on it for short periods of time, a couple days a week, interspersed with Bill going to auctions and other things. A short time after we got the car, the front end started wobbling like crazy, and we parked it in pecks parking lot and saw that the wheel was sideways, coming off. Bill came and towed it to his garage. He "fixed" the car, and we went back to get it. A little while ago, there was a slight wobble coming back. Then yesterday, when my mom was leaving work, suddenly the wobble was bad. And then, in the middle of highway traffic, the same wheel came off. When we consulted a mechanic, they said that it's because the wheel was not put on right. She called bill and he had his tow truck come and tow it back to his garage, and in the meantime he had a car we could drive. Then this morning, Bill called and told us that he isn't going to try to fix the car, he is going to charge us to have the car in his garage, and he is going to call the cops if we don't bring his car back. He is saying that the tire was blown and is trying to say that it is because of a pothole. We have pictures of the tire after the incident, it was not blown. When he took it to his garage, Bill decided to hold the car up on the wheel (like a jack stand), so I am beginning to suspect he blew the tire himself and is trying to blame it on us. What I believe is happening is he sold us a junk car that shouldn't have passed inspection, tried to fix it up just enough to be driveable, and now that he realized that he is gonna lose too much trying to fix it, he is trying to cut his losses by kicking us to the curb. We will be taking him to court over this, as his negligence put us in danger and he sold us a lemon that should not have been inspected. tl;dr Bill sold us a car that was junk and shouldn't have passed inspection, he unsuccessfully tried to fix it, a wheel started to come off, bill "fixed" it, the same wheel came flying off on the highway due to his poor work as a mechanic, he is now trying to cut his losses by kicking us to the curb, he is trying to blame the whole on us when it was clearly his fault, we will be fighting this in court.
