We dined here today for an extremely late lunch or could be an early dinner given we were all stuffed at the end. Friendly and welcoming restaurant. Good service for a Saturday afternoon. Upbeat and lively ambiance. The guacamole was tasty and the chips had great crunchy texture. Somewhat addictive chips. The food is mediocre after receiving feedback from everyone at our table. The shrimp ceviche appears to be packaged shrimp put together with tomatoes, onions and lime juice. We’ve had award winning ceviche and this won’t make the cut. Mojitos were delicious, flavorful and smooth hence the four stars. There’s a service charge when using credit card and overall the price for such simple food is somewhat higher than expected when compared to Dos Caminos, Rosa Mexicano and Mexicue. I would return for the cocktails, chips and guacamole.

Lovely, eclectic, cavernous, authentic interior. Table chips & salsa hit the spot - the salsa fresh and flavorful, the chips crispy and warm. Drinks were ok - felt slightly watered down than I prefer. The Mesita Steak was absolutely wonderful, the high point of my dinner. Tacos were delicious - crispy on the outside, flavor packed inside. Kids loved the quesadilla and tacos as well. We went overboard with dessert - ordered the flan, tres leches, and the heavenly nachos. The heavenly nachos definitely lived up to their name. The flan and tres leches were a close second. Would not miss any of them if I could! An evening well spent!

Husband’s 50th birthday dinner party 4/9/22 We recently celebrated my husband’s 50th birthday and chose this Mesita location for a couple of reasons. First, we had been there before and knew the food was great, all fresh and really tasty with plenty of options. Nothing can beat a fresh guacamole with home made chips. Also, because this location has an area for private parties. This room is really nice and it has its own bathroom which was a plus. We received many complements from the guests in regards to the great food and the service. I was pleasantly surprised with a menu with my husband name and everything. Shot outs to one of the manager Polo who recommended the place, Jenna for all the help making the reservation and arrangements. Most importantly a big thank you to the staff present on that day. From the moment we stepped there to decorate and set the surprise for my husband, everyone was so helpful, especially our waitress May and the manager Gerry. The cake was delivered there and they took care of it for us. Also made every effort to set everything up and keep a nice surprise for my husband. Mesita Rockville Center exceeded all my expectations. Jenna was not wrong when she said that we will be taken care of there. Thank you all so much for making this day extra especial!

We had a great experience at Mesita in Rockville Center. The service was quick. We got our drinks quick and our food quick. The drinks & food were a bit pricey (probably due to food prices rising due to covid) but it was still worth it because it tastes great and portions are big. I ordered the steak & shrimp fajita and it was amazingggg. Definitely would recommend anyone to try.

I stopped by for a drink at the bar! Great decision! The piña colada was really good, the chips came with one of the best sauces I have tried in many Mexican restaurants, it was soo good!! I ordered some chicken wings as well, they were tasty and crispy on the outside. I enjoyed the service and the ambiance! The prices are a little on the high side and we need a happy hour discounted menu for the drinks. That piña Colada on the picture was too small for $15 bucks!

First time here, the space is very big, the ambiance is very nice and and somber. Music is on and has a fun vibe. Food is delicious, I recommend the enchiladas. Margarita was bomb too, very strong.

The food used to be delicious—they make great queso fundido, but the quality of the food has gone down recently. The staff is unfriendly and unwelcoming—like they don’t value your business. If you don’t have a reservation, forget about being seated. The atmosphere has changed and seems more like a wanna-be club with a DJ mixing loud music on Friday nights. No one ever came to clean our table and we had a collection of used glasses on our table throughout the night. Very disappointed in this location. I have to find a better spot to get good Mexican food, as this is feeling more like a lounge that Wall Street guys stop in on their way home to get drunk and pretend that their cool. If you really value high quality Mexican food, do NOT go here!

Upon walking in and being semi-greeted by a grump of a host (Turns out Marty was the Mgr as well....needs some customer service refresher courses) this place was pretty good. The staff (Eric, etc.) Was exceptional, the food was really good and the atmosphere was nice. I will tell you it's WAY OVERPRICED, but what spot in RVC isn't right? Worth a visit but I wouldn't go out of your way just to check it out.

Upscale Mexican restaurant with wonderful service, food, and vibes. Our server was particularly amazing and the food was amazing. Perfect adaptations to dietary restrictions, such as nut or dairy allergies. The vibe of the restaurant whisks you back to a Mexican street, with amazing lighting and party-level music. Finally, the food is of the best quality. I had the fajita, and the way it is served and cooked is truly amazing. The only downside might be Ojo, the manager, who was a bit rude speaking to us about a drink mix-up, but the etiquette and kindness of the servers certainly makes up for it.

BUYER BEWARE: “veggie Burrito” is a misnomer. It is NOT vegetarian as the Mexican rice is cooked in animal product. Refried beans are not vegetarian either. Food is good but NOT GREAT, just average. The vegetable tacos were mediocre, wish they had vegetarian beans inside. They forgot to put black beans on the nachos which was an after thought. At least I was in GREAT company otherwise this restaurant may have fared worse.
