Placed on order to be delivered more than 24 hours in advance and it was scheduled to be delivered between 7pm and 8 pm. The order was placed as delayed. We called and spoke to the location and was told it would be delivered late as they were busy, we stated that was fine we just wanted to make sure it would be here if not we would go shopping if that is what needed to be done as we are on vacation and drove over 9 hours which is why we scheduled delivery. We understand busy and would have understood if we had been advised properly, even the door dash person called and asked if we wanted it tonight and we said yes. It is now 12:20am no word from anyone and now we cannot go get things as everyone is closed. This is unacceptable business and if you are short staffed we get it just be up front as we were with you. It is truly an issue that is troublesome in many ways. All those who are trying to work and can’t get jobs then all of those that are working to have some that really don’t want to be there and then those who are busting their tails to get a job done and probably working more than one job to do it. Just be forthcoming and say the truth so people who are shopping with you will continue to support as most of us understand but to leave us waiting more than 4 hours telling us it will be there and not show up well that is another story. FYI it is not just the Walmart that services Topsail NC this is happening at a lot of them.

Horrible experience. Pick up was delayed. When it was finally ready we waited at least an hour with only one associate bringing out orders. There were at least 10 cars ahead of us. People were arriving after us and leaving in disgust. You would think they would have more associates during peak hours. I understand there are employee shortages but this also seemed to be a managerial problem as well as I could see multiple pick up persons behind the scenes stacking up empty totes and seemingly doing nothing to get existing orders out the door. They would not answer their phone either as I was willing to wait till the next day to pick up but there was no one to tell. I will never use pick up and will probably never even use this store again as there are other options in the area that are far more pleasant.

Recently purchased a bicycle and when trying to take it home discovered our trunk would not close completely with the bicycle in there. Went to customer service to see if they simply had a short piece of string to tie my trunk down in order to bring the bicycle home and I received the following response from customer service agent: "We're not Lowes or Home Depot. We don't have those things here". And it was said in a snarky tone. So, thank you Walmart, I returned the bike and you lost ~ $250 in sales.

Awful. Order ready over an hour past the end of pickup window. Substituted 5 Roma tomatoes for 5 lb of on the vine tomatoes. Substituted frozen corn for fresh corn. All substitutions were poorly chosen and 10 items were out of stock. When I came to pick up waited 30 minutes for groceries to be brought out. Two guys with one coming out every 10 minutes and six cars outside. Never again.

Entered self checkout and young lady was laid up on the candy display asked cash or card, I replied card . She said register 1and if you need help let me know. I said ok I will need help with all the vegetables. She said ok. I proceeded to check my self out and came to the vegetables at that t time I told her again that I needed help with all the vegetables. She said ok and walked off . I got another young lady to check the vegetables. When finished I found the first young at customer service desk chatting with another employee. My next visit you can believe they will check and bag my entire cart full of groceries or put them back on the shelf and I will proceed across the street to PUBLIX where they are all about Customer Service. Stay tuned to see how things work out. I may give more ⭐ or less

I'm a local that frequently shops at the Surf City location. It can get very hectic there and many employees are like robots shopping for other people's orders. However a gentleman named Brian seems to be there all the time. He is always smiling, personable, and helpful. Hope he is given the proper recognition. He's a valuable asset.

Arrived at 6 to get our pick up order that was supposed to be ready much earlier and didn’t receive it until 8. Not to mention we were traveling in so after riding for hours in a car we had to wait 2 extra hours. Even after calling nothing was done as cars that arrived after us left before us. I do not blame the workers who delivered the groceries to the cars, but something about this much change as there were multiple cars going through the same thing as my group. Awful service, something has to change.

First off, our pickup grocery order wasn't ready the day before. The next day, we arrived to pick up the order, waiting one hour, then the order was missing 10+ items from it. You place an order online, go pick the order right Walmart. I won't order from here, ever again. Do yourself a favor, pay more and pickup at Publix if you need grocery pickup in surf city.

Worst grocery store around, hands down. Produce consistently looks like it fell off a truck and was urinated on by wild animals. Fully self checkout, which is always full of as many employees standing around doing nothing as it is with paying customers doing their jobs for them, all the while every cart corral is overflowing with carts. Lots of grocery options in Surf City, I wouldn’t go here unless you’re desperate.

I shop at Walmart, among other places, to buy the healthier choices they have introduced over the years. Prices are always higher for those items everywhere but usually lower at Walmart. My hope is that by supporting mainstream availability of better food choices that better food will become affordable for all, not only those that can shop elsewhere.. Regarding Surf City W.M. it would be nice to introduce organic produce and stop using plastic bags. Thank you!
