I was confronted by a someone, who did not identify themselves as a DG employee, about my service dog. I normally don't have any issues in this store, when I was checking out the cashier asked if I would like to speak to the manager. I said no, after talking with her a few minutes she asked me again if I would like to speak with the manager. I said ok. the lady that came out happened to be the one that confronted me about my dog. my dog is always wearing a vest that states she's a service dog, I also walk her on a gentle leader that goes around her nose. she said she had to ask if it's a support dog, I said no, she's a service dog. there is a difference. I don't know what the problem was. she did not identify herself as an employee, was wearing a black t shirt and jeans. did not have a name tag or anything identifying herself as an employee or manager. please educate your managers that there are certain ways you can ask about a service dog and not come off the way she did. by law you can ask if they are a service dog and you can ask what tasks are they trained to do. edited to add that any dog any breed or size can be a service dog. I'm not sure if a customer complained, which is usually the case, I've had managers of other stores ask me if my dog is a service dog and not come off the way she did.
