It’s the same problem with all the cookouts. I think most people go there because it’s like Russian Roulette but with less dire consequences. Well, ideally less. The chances you’ll die of food poisoning are still not 0. Anyway, you always feel like you’re inconveniencing the employees and they talk so fast and flippantly that you can’t understand them. The person taking my order assured me he had my order right and I was already a few miles away when I realized, somehow, that he’d completely messed it up. Oh well… at least I’m still alive. That’s a win. Almost worth another star.

Truly delicious! Made-to-order double cheeseburger cheddar style is heavenly and cajun fries are second to none! Definitely recommend!

Every once in a while you just need a good milkshake. They have many flavors . Love the push-up one . My niece loves their sweet tea. Good place for a quick cheap meal also.

I’m honestly very disappointed in this cookout. I love cookout so I came to the one here in Roanoke rapids, I ordered a delicious hot dog with mayo and ketchup but they gave me a disgusting hotdog with mayo and mustard! I was very hungry and looking forward to eating it. Their service is horrible and the wait for the disgusting food is extremely slow. If I could give them less than 1 star I would! Definitely do not recommend this cookout!

Locals love this place...there was a long line of cars to order. Service was slow (even with 2 lines) and the fast food was just okay. I am not sure why this was the obvious preferred fast food restaurant when next door McDonald's and Burger King lines were empty! Sorry to say, we won't be back.

I LOVE cookout but this location is terrible. The guy on drive thru had a terrible attitude and they messed up at least 1 thing in all 5 trays we ordered. My meal they messed up EVERYTHING i ordered. Burger and both sides. Plus they tried to short us a drink. Next time I come though this way I'll drive on by and hit the next cookout I come to....

Cookout always serves their food hot and fresh and this location keeps that tradition. Service is fast from order to pick up and I’ve only experienced one incorrect order from this Cookout in countless times I’ve visited. It was easily resolved. The issue can be easily attributed to the “routine” of putting ice in drinks vs requesting no ice because of dental sensitivity to cold drinks.

It's not what I remembered. Burger had ZERO flame-broil taste. Pulled pork was better. Fries were pretty good. I guess if you like bland food, it's fresh and priced right. Milkshakes are the best thing here.

For $15 we got 2 great meals and a shake. BBQ was delicious, burger was juicy, cheese bites were yummy and mint oreo shake was perfect.

We were a bit hesitant at first because the drive through lines were so long. We decided to give it a go anyway and I'm glad we did. The lines moved quickly and within a few minutes we had fresh hot food in our hands. Everything was phenomenal! Pictured is the double "cheddar style" burger with cajun seasoning. Yes it tasted as good as it looks. Swing by and get some hot, delicious, affordable food.
