Made our way down here for lunch as we do every time we are in Waldport. This place has the most delicious chowder and toasted sourdough bread bowls of anyplace that I have ever eaten. TL;DR: Yum! This was the second spot that our large group visited. We were a group of 8 and 3 of us had a massive language barrier that can prove difficult a times. Our server (wish I had gotten her name but she had a great braid!!) handled it with such grace and flexibility. I would (embarrassingly) say we were a bit needy during our dinner and I am so grateful for how well she handled us. We arrived unannounced and for a group of 8, still were able to sit almost immediately. We let our server know right away that 3 of us had a language barrier and would need one of us to speak for them. She was very accommodating and understanding. We ordered burgers, crab, salads, chowder, and various sandwiches. All the food was delicious! Hot when it needed to be, chilled perfectly when it needed to be, very flavorful and tasty. We have family in the area who frequent here almost daily and it is clear to see why. Thank you to the staff for being so kind and thank you to the kitchen for being on top of your game!!

Fabulous! We had our dogs so had to do take out. We got the chowder in bread bowls and some fish and chips! It was all great! The service was fast and friendly, you can tell all their home cooked food is really good!

Food was excellent as was the service. I split the Pirate Platter with a companion. Even splitting it we took a box of food away. The clam chowder was delicious. I had eaten clam chowder at Moe's earlier and the chowder at Salty Dawg was much better.

Not a lot of seating outside. We ordered our food to go but by the time it was done we were able to sit outside with our little guy. The food was good. Wont complain to much about the clam chowder but I have had better. Burger was delicious and had a taste the fish n chips. It was really good. The atmosphere was beach side simple. Definitely a locals atmosphere. I would return.

Been there about 4 times and never had good service. Food is adequate, but nothing special. Don't know if wait staff doesn't like serving women without men or tourists. Last time, I closed an open window at my table because it was an overcast, windy, cold day. Waitress said "We locals like it cooler in here than you." Then she told me to move to another table. So we did--we drove a few miles down the road to Sea Note in Yachats. They have similar ambiance, better food, and most importantly, much nicer and more efficient wait staff. Also Salty Dawg now charges 3.9% fee for credit cards with menu prices same as other places who don't add charge. We won't be returning to Salty Dawg.

This place was awesome such great service from the time you walk-in and to the time pay your bill the lady was super friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and prices and she made some pretty good drinks too the food was beyond delicious I had the burger special and tried some of a crab bowl which was a pretty big size crab bread bowl soup! And the bread was made fresh! We will definitely be coming back to this place whenever we are in town thanks for a great meal and great service!

Wonderful service with a smile. Very clean and the food was amazing. Lunches were well priced and the special plate was well worth the price. We went back for chowder (yum!) And desert and were again served with a smile and clean tables. We will be back!

Visiting Walport and was told to try out the Salty Dawg. Was not a disappointment. We tried the Pirates plate and the chowder and Loved all of it! Local place with a good atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Great place. Hard to find if you go down the wrong street. You need to be one block over to get in their parking lot. Old but a great atmosphere. Good food and the price of the daily special was a good deal. I had a hard time finishing my meal as it was plenty. Staff was very knowledgeable of the area.
