If your looking for childcare you have found the right place. I will never forgot what the butler YMCA has done for my family. They went way out of there way to make sure all 3 of my kids where taken care of. I remember when I first started looking for daycares after my ex ran off to Ohio. I'm pritty sure I called every place in south butler district and no one had room or the staff because of covid. I was already off work for about 3 months when my ex case worker told me about the Butler YMCA. I figured why not tryed everywhere else. Well when kelly answered the phone and told me she would figured out a way to get all 3 of my kids in there daycare program so I could get back to work I was shocked and relieved. I remember the first day of me dropping off the kids there I was really nervous. My kids never been to a daycare and there mom just left them would they think I was leaving them at the daycare. Well the first day was hardest for me leaving them and hearing them cry but there staff handled it like a expert. as the days went on my kids got into the new flow of things the boys could be a lot to handle at times my one son is autistic but between his help with BHS and the staff of the ymca i dont think river would be how he is today. He as improved more then I thought was possable in a short period of time. I honestly could never thank both of his teachers enough for treating him like family and helping him the way they did. My daughter will always have so meny great memory's of this place and even thow she loves her new room she is sad we moved out of butler county. My other son loved going here. they where a huge part of his potty training and they always tried to help him in anyway they could even going above and beyond my expectations with all 3 kids. All 3 of my kids will never forget the YMCA and the most difficult part of moving into a house was leaving this place behind I was even Question if I should turn down the house offer so they could stay. like I said if your looking for childcare this is the place you want. they will treat your kids like there own families. They will go out of there way to make your sure kids are getting the help they deserve. They will always go above and beyond to make sure the kids are having a good time This place is more then just a childcare i will never be able to thank them enough for what they have done for my family.

A tad dated but love this place. Friendly staff. Very clean.

They’re clean, all the stuff works, and they leave you alone to exercise. I have a couple minutiae complaints but certainly not enough to knock off a star. This place is fantastic.

I would no longer recommend South Butler YMCA childcare. It’s poorly run & the kids are running around bored & unsupervised. My kids attended for the past 10 years & up until this past year it was great. I voiced my concerns & was given a generic reply that had the feel of a prewritten response that’s used every time. It stated that they appreciate feedback from parents & that they would use is it as a learning opportunity. Wow.

I like the services and people at the Y. However the hours are not conducive for school kids and working parents. The weekend hours should be the same as the weekday hours. It's frustrating that they close at 8 on Friday, 6 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday. I hardly get to use my membership because I'm a working single mom.

the Y has taken a turn. they no longer have activities for the younger children. the are increasing prices and dramatically lowering the quality. they seem to be more worried about having board rooms and their trustees. so many people are disgusted with management but yet suffer with their new ways. there covid practices are horrible. examples. why are so many people crammed in a little hallway watching swimming. but the swim area is empty. no face mask in the work out room not many people are cleaning their space before they move on. the say the removed dance classes for kids because of covid but basketball, zumba classes, karate are all fine.

If you have kids and plan on working out, go elsewhere. They are now charging 2.00 a day for child watch on top of your membership for 2 very small rooms that aren't big enough for the kids to play as is. Terrible decision to take more money with out value in place. I'm switching to another Y. I've been to several ymcas. And this is prob the worst. Previous review Gym is decent with good equipment. Newly remodeled REC center is terrible. It discourages activity in children due to its size. It encourages screen watching and sitting, while parents are active in the gym. Three stars due to renovations being discouraging to the future of society. The YMCA promotes healthy kids campaign, yet the room is not much bigger than a prison cell.

I have had nothing but great experiences at this YMCA. Both of my children are in childcare and have learned so much in just one year. I have participated in small group training and have taken multiple classes and love the friendly and encouraging atmosphere.
