Cute little spot inside the Apothecary. Friendly faces took our order and wasn't a long wait to get our food. The food was outstanding. Definitely coming back.

I really loved this place back in the day. A Duncanville staple for years and with lots of great memories. (The pastrami sandwiches were my go to. My mom loved the tuna salad sandwich &Of course, the kids just go for the ice cream!) My daughter asked for us to go this Saturday. We had not been in 2 years. Went to the counter, ordered a grilled cheese sandwich for my little girl, ice cream for my son, and of course, her meal came with the ice cream. We took our seat. And waited… And waited… And waited… 15 minutes later, we have a lady come to the table and asked us if we wanted our drinks now or with the meal. I told her that it doesn’t matter. She then proceeded to tell me, ‘well, that’s why I’m here’, in a scolding manner. (She did not seem happy with us at all.) I responded to her that it doesn’t matter. She walked away without saying anything. I know that I should’ve gone to the counter and should have said something, but I have one of the most squirmy sweet little autistic boys and was having a pleasant conversation with my daughter. I thought that surely, they would notice. The sweet lady who took our order at the counter came to the table and asked us if we had received anything. I told her that we had not receive anything. …It had been about 40 minutes at that point. (Keep in mind, this was only a grilled cheese sandwich, lemonade, and two small ice creams.) I should have said something, but, assumed that they would’ve seen us since we were with an eye shot. After the sweet lady, who took our order, came to the table, we received a cold grilled cheese sandwich by an apologetic employee who immediately said that she was going to refund us our money. I said that she did not have to. However, she insisted. -However employee who asked us about our drinks was not happy to have us there. Condescending. The service almost felt like we were intruding and not welcomed; with the exception of two of the staff members, one of whom refunded us. I want to like this place so much, but I do not feel like we will be going there for food again. We don’t want to go to a place where we are treated this way. Thanks for all the memories, however! And thank you to the kind sweet lady who refunded us. If I could give you five stars, I would. But the service, unfortunately reflects on all.

Through my travels around the world, I have yet to encounter another place quite like Kitchen's Deli. For decades, their food seems to have a magical ambiance that exudes the epitome of simplicity, wholesome goodness, love, and comfort. (Yes, I believe possibly they have access to Care Bears or a time portal to mothers/grandmothers from yesteryears who prepare their menu items.) Also, their food is all the more seasoned by a delightful atmosphere that makes you feel as if you have been transported back to a time when soda jerks and penny candies were all the rage. If you want a scrumptious sandwich, wonderfully-fresh fare chock full of veggies, comforting soups & chili (dare I say, 'Frito Pie?!'), and delectable desserts like chocolate- or coconut-cream pie, you must at least once get your lunch at Kitchen's Deli. To this end, be warned, if you find something you absolutely love on their menu, don't expect to be able to find another place to have it or prepare it anywhere as well. In my case, I almost regret the day I first tried their stuffed tomato because I have yet to find another dining establishment that makes it as well as Kitchen's Deli.

Definitely a down home hidden gem in Duncanville! The baked beans have tons of flavor with added spices and garlic. The tuna is fresh and flavorful as well! What stole the show though was the baked potato (didn’t get a pic, ate it too fast)! The bacon was REAL (not the chewy bits you get at other places) and it was perfectly cooked. Went for a stroll in the store after to walk off the food coma and found some great candles! A one stop shop for lunch and home decor!

Definitely NOT impressed! I ordered a loaded potato extra everything ( cost almost 4 bucks for the extras) I get home hard potato, bacon hard and no extras 😞 couldn’t mix everything because the cheese was in one chunk and I don’t know what that’s about. First and last time! I’m really disappointed, had my hopes up.

I visit this lovely place often! This is my favorite place to pass a nice evening. I go to this spot regularly. The cooking is very good, the team is polite and the rates are reasonable. I enjoy going in this place to have a decent meal.

Best place to eat & look at things to buy! It's NOT Wal-Mart-esque, it's "makes me think of time with my grandparents-esque", & I love that! Great sandwiches OR salads/platters. Sodas or fountain drinks are options as well as iced tea. Ice cream is good, though I'm not a Bluebell fan. Desserts are fresh, cookies & pies! You can sit & eat, chat, read.... Get up & walk around the store, the kids love that part! It's not just a dining experience - it can be that, but it can also be a 'well spent hour' just inside the building! And at Christmas? Oh the personalized ornaments! Back to school bundles for Duncanville ISD lower grades in the late summer are available. Hard to find tablets for primary grades can be found here. Beautiful buys for various holidays or just for that someone special are available. There's a pharmacy, too, as well as a candy/fudge area. But the deli/diner? That's the best part! Look around the store & have a nice, fresh lunch! What more could you ask for?

I ordered delivery through Grubhub and was quoted a 45-minute delivery time, which is pretty normal, so no reason to question it. After waiting for nearly 1.5 hours, I called to check status and was told that my order had not even been started and delivery was expected in another 30 minutes, a full hour late! When it finally arrived, my "grilled cheese" sandwich was basically two pieces of toast with unmelted cheese slapped in the middle. The baked potato was as expected - the only thing that went right on this order. When I contacted the restaurant to check status, they blamed Grubhub's process for estimating delivery times. The employee that I chatted with at Grubhub was not much help, so perhaps this is true, but if so, this restaurant needs to end its relationship with Grubhub to protect its reputation. After dealing with Grubhub, I'm not sure how that company is even managing to exist.

Never knew this place had been here until it showed up on Maps. The food is excellent and didn't take long to prepare. The sandwich was huge and the fresh made limeade was awesome! Highly recommend trying it out - I'll be bringing the family next time for happy hour on shakes!
