Every year me and my kids visit Cedar Creek and we always pass by this BBQ place in Ellinger. Been dying to go and taste it. So we just stopped by and had a Togo plate with 2 meats and a small side. The prices are ridiculous I paid $30 for 1 plate and when I dug in, the brisket was tasteless. No flavor whatsoever, and nothing but fat. The sausage was okay and potatoes salad was amazing. But very disappointed with everything else. Will never go back again.

Came in to try the bar b q but they had a fish buffet so….. The grilled fish was very good but a little salty. All the sides were excellent. I had the potato salad, beets, Mac and cheese, peas and coleslaw. They even had fried chicken on the buffet which was also very good. All of the fried foods tasted like they used fresh oil. Have noticed some places where the food looks good but the oil has a burn or other meat taste, not here. The buffet was only $11.95!!! While the fried fish was the main draw, to me the fried chicken stole the show. Went back for thirds. One thing I didn’t like was my bottle soda was $3.15 so be aware of that. Not a bad place for lunch and I definitely will be back next time to try the bar b q!

I rolled in just a couple minutes before close but the woman behind the counter and the guy slicing brisket were super nice and hooked me up with a pound of brisket sandwich to finish my drive back to Austin. Great moist brisket and kind people :)

So glad we stopped here! BBQ was delicious. And the peach cobbler was a real treat!!

It was okay...pork rib could have been cooked a bit more, was a bit though. Brisket needed more flavor, coleslaw needed vinegar to balance the mayonnaise in it. And the BBQ sauce was too sweet almost like pork and bean sauce. I would have preferred the sides to be behind the counter or at least to be covered to prevent cross contamination as I have my autoimmune compromised due to a lung transplant, so didn't feel comfortable eating them.

This is our Sunday treat! Their BBQ is always good. We love brisket, but I highly recommend their chicken. It's smoky and always moist. The coleslaw is great--not too sweet, just right.

I've stopped here many times on my drives from Austin to Galveston Island. What you will find is pleasant attentive staff and excellent BBQ. The place has a down home Texas feel that will make you want to come back for more. Today I enjoyed a quick white meat chicken sandwich which hit the spot!

Super tasty and filling! Stopped by after hitting the Hatari Safari. We were famished! So made a 20 min stop on our way to Austin. I had a hopped brisket potato and it was a 7 out of 10. Great portions and the brisket was nice and tender with. Good flavor but the sauce was a little sweet and watery. I was expecting the potato to be fully dressed with lots of cheese, bacon, sour cream and chives but this wasn't it. Sadly. But it was still very good! My 6 year old son got the kids' meal with sausage and it was a great portion size that came with: potato salad, cole slaw, banana pudding, a slice of whole wheat bread and an ice cream cone. Sides were filling and he loved the sausage and banana pudding. We'd come back again and would recommend to a friend.

Delicious, smoky barbecue. We each had a 2-meat plate for a total around 30 bucks. One was brisket & sausage with potato salad and green beans; the hubbs chose the moist over the lean brisket and got 2-3 good, juicy slices which were super tender. The sliced sausage link was pretty good, but I'm partial to another nearby 'cue joint's sausage, so he ate most of it. The other plate was chicken and pork ribs, German-style potatoes, and green beans. I chose the dark leg/thigh quarter as usual, and it fell right off the bone. They pulled an untouched rack to cut me 2 big, juicy ribs from the center. Those were my favorite, and only the bone remained when I was done. Johnnie did me right! The pile of green beans were cooked with pork and onion - so good, as were the German-style potatoes with lots of butter and onion. The potato salad was ok, but I preferred the other. We had enough to take home leftovers, which were just as good the following day. They have the best sweet tea for miles and miles, and to top off your meal - a self-service complimentary soft-serve cone or bowl. Can't beat that! Side note, their Friday fried fish & buffet style sides is to die for. Haven't been for that since before COVID, and we're excited to try it out again. Be prepared to hurt yourself trying to taste everything they offer!

Worth dropping by if you are on your way to Austin. We decided to have lunch in here and this place never failed us to satisfy beyond our expectation. Often than not, they said Texans have one of the best BBQ & Peters BBQ proves it. Brisket is soo tender & flavorful. The BBQ sauce makes it more powerful. Also, there’s a lot of fantastic sides & desserts to choose from. My personal favorite is their potato salad & pudding. And to their crews, hats off.! Awesome service! Once I get back to Austin, I’ll drop here for sure.
