Extremely special wines, and the tasting is an incredible value. In a blind tasting would beat out plenty of Napa’s best. We need to plan a judgement of Fredericksburg.

Very unique winery location/experience. The wines were phenomenal! Great selection of bold reds. The staff was very informative. We walked away having learned something new. The tasting is topped off with the winemakers home baked bread. While the wines are more expensive, this is a must try.

One of our favorite wineries to visit. Reservation is required. Tasting room is in the cave where wine is stored in barrels for bottling. No food available here. Wines are produced in the Bordeaux and Rhone style. Cabernet Sauvignon is a featured varietal. Ben Calais is the winemaker here and also at nearby French Connection winery.

By far the best and most enjoyed tasting of every trip to Fredericksburg! You should never leave this area without stopping by the barrel cave for a beautiful tasting! Had to leave with a case of wine!

This was such a pleasant surprise after seeing the unassuming location. The tasting was informative, and every wine was absolutely delicious! The only downside was that this winery was our first tasting experience on our trip, so we were completely spoiled! 🤪

By far the most unique and educational experience we have had at a Texas Winery. Very lacking in atmosphere sadly. If you don't know what to look for, which is an opening to what looks like an underground garage, you will drive right by it. Wine was very good though! If you are looking for a small intimate, educational tasting, thus is your spot.

Went here for a tasting with my wife and our friends from California. If this is the future of Texas wine then I am super excited! Small batches and great quality wine. Definetly a real treat for wine drinkers. Tannat, tempernillo, merlot, all Texas grown and delicious!

Hands down the best wines in the texas hill country. Never miss Calais on any trip. These are big wines.

Yes your GPS is correct even though you may feel like you're in the wrong place. This place is all about the wine, which was amazing. Not the place if you're looking for an elegant building and space to stay and hang on the patio. The wine was all very good and the entire team is very passionate about what they're doing. If you've never been you HAVE to go and if you've already been then you get it.

The absolute best Texas wine, everything was smooth and delicious! The current tasting is all reds but they have some white that will be ready for summer. Our guide was very informative and knowledgeable. They are dog friendly and the cellar was comfortable. Be sure to book a reservation online! The wine is more expensive but worth the price.
