Amazing experience. Great piece of Texas history. Our server, Jacob, had a pretty extensive knowledge of the place. Had to send hubby’s steak back because it was over cooked but Jacob (who’s also the manager) went above and beyond to make it right. Truly, excellent customer service. We WILL be back! Ask about the speakeasy. Super cool place. We’ve missed unique dining since moving to the area from Austin and this place definitely scratches that itch without having to drive to Austin. Drinks were tasty. Extensive wine menus. Dessert was yummy. The Filet Steak was TO DIE FOR, it cut like butter. No sauce or anything extra needed. Truly great flavor. We also really enjoyed the steak and pork bruschetta. Truly, everything was good.

This place is soooo nice! The staff, the food, the atmosphere were all amazing. We had gone to Alexander’s (a different restaurant) and it was horrible so we left and found this sweet place. Eric was our server was absolutely fantastic he was so sweet and really cared about his job. I have worked in the service industry and would 100% sit with him again. The manager Karrie heard of our horrible experience at the other restaurant and comped our desserts. She came and talked with us so down to earth. I had the salmon with clam and mussels in a Chardonnay herb sauce with potatoes. My husband had the goat cheese quiche and for dessert the lemon cake and sticky pudding. They also had an amazing bar selection.

Father's Day lunch was wonderful. Food was well prepared and service was impeccable (Jacob was the best server ever). Every staff we encountered wished us Happy Father's day. A bit pricey perhaps, but you get what you pay for.

Perfect venue for group bookings. We had a dinner for our family reunion at Barton House and can highly recommend it. The set menu offered a variety of options, quality of the food was great, service was attentive and price and location were perfect.

Highly recommend this place for you next event! We hosted a surprise wedding anniversary party for my parents and we couldn't be happier with our experience. From the beginning, we were treated so kindly from our event coordinator, Kari. She helped us decide which spaces to rent, helped us decide on food and timeline, and was so friendly and helpful throughout the process. She was super flexible and very accommodating. We rented a couple of dining rooms and had access to the very cool Speak Easy for appetizers and drinks. The rental price was very reasonable and the food was delicious. We had two servers who did a fabulous job making sure all of our needs were met and that our guests were happy. 5 Stars!

The decor and overall environment aren't bad, but we had the akaushi (?) steak and were sorely disappointed. It just wasn't good. I can't think of a genuinely redeeming quality about the cut of meat, seasoning, or the price. At $75 per steak it was more than just a little disappointing. We routinely spend $200-$350 for dinner at various spots all over Texas and Oklahoma, but this place for price to performance ranks the lowest so far. The peppercorn sauce is nice though...

Valentine’s Day date, building itself exuded eclectic, inviting and not so hidden gem. Ambiance was appropriate and decor suited the historic building by giving it some character sf color . Staff were awesome, friendly and engaging. Food was good, pretty tasty. Nice to have such caliber of restaurant in Village of Salado however makes sense if patrons visit from other cities and towns as it would be forth a trip. We had beef bruss…seared pork chops, lobster. Food turned out good. Recommended!

Very memorable, thank you Barton House! Want to come back after seeing what they offer at other times I'd the day. Unique potato fries! Like smooth kettle cooked chips but warm and lightly crusted with salt. My wife kept eating mine and I kept sneaking her Shepherds pie. They do a great job with the basic potato. Soup, fries and pie topping. The wait staffer Erik was attentive ,confident and friendly. Almost forgot the serving of Chocolate Mousse cake we carried off. Glad we did! It would have kept 3 reasonable people very happy.

I would have given this place 5 stars because food and service we both pretty good. However, I am pretty sure either the server or the kitchen forgot about our order, and we ended up waiting a while for the food. They did give my parents each a free glass of wine to make up for it. Besides that little complication, though, my family and I enjoyed this place. The food was good, staff was friendly. Definitely a quaint and romantic place to go for a date night in the future.

Very great experience. The staff were knowledgeable and had wonderful suggestions, the food and drinks were creatively and elegantly prepared, and the atmosphere and experience was fine dining at it's best.
