Y boyfriend and I ate there earlier after we went tubing down the river. I think it was actually my first time to ever eat there. And I'm from San Marcos. The food was really great and the drinks is an added bonus. If you want to enjoy good food go by and eat at Ivar's if you hadn't yet. You won't be disappointed. The food is always delicious.

Had lunch on the patio by the river. The restaurant was not crowded and parking was available. We started with the fried mushrooms, I ordered chicken fried steak and it was really delicious, my sister ordered smothered grilled chicken and she found it delicious. Our server was ready with anything we needed and recommended the Blackened chicken wrap and we will try it next time. The view is absolutely lovely.

Tried this place for the first time tonight and really enjoyed the view and all the options for seating. They actually have for portions for seating. Inside, kinda outside, outside and outside next to the water. The food was very well done, seasoned, cooked to perfection and very moist. I don't normally order mashed potatoes, but, for some reason I did tonight. Let's just say these were different, they came out cold and had a sort of vinegar flavor to them. I wanted to ask my server about them, but we never saw her again after we ordered food until it was time to get our check. She unfortunately didn't receive a very good tip for that and she never refilled my drink. If you've never been, go for the food and the view is worth it. We will be back and hope for better service.

Really good experience. Wait staff and everyone was very good. The beyond burger, Turkey plate and brisket plate were awesome. Plenty of food and it was good and well priced. If we are back in the area again, we will stop back by. Go see them.

Enjoyed lunch with a group of friends on a Friday. Parking is modest but was adequate when we were there.. you may find it crowded during weekends. We enjoyed the variety of choices for seating.... inside with air conditioning ...or on the air conditioned deck... or on the open air deck which overlooks the swimming area below. I enjoyed their chicken fried steak plate which was a generous portion with real mashed potatoes and savory green beans. The steak itself was reasonably tender ...if not fork tender. Other diners enjoyed the mushroom-onion- swiss burger with fries, very tasty, and the Friday special catfish plate. Also, three of us drank a Bloody Mary (one found the house-made Bloody Mary mix too spicy). An appetizer of fried mushrooms was a tasty starter, as well. Service was prompt and efficient, and prices are reasonable if not inexpensive. Overall, for a nice place to enjoy a beverage of your choice, some good food, and overlook the swimming area, this is a great choice. Kid-friendliness: Casual setting overlooking the springs will charm the young ones, but this is an adult venue with adult beverages as well. Parking: Modest size lot means you may need to search a bit.

I enjoyed the frozen dreamsicle and fried pickles. However, the food is bland. The coleslaw tasted like nothing at all and the chicken strips had no seasoning at all…not even salt. The fries were good but it’s hard to mess up fries. The brisket sandwich was very tough and hard to chew. The service was good though

What a nice place alongside the river to dine and people watch. We added a little sat to our food but everything was delicious and affordable! The service was hitting and missing but we enjoyed the view and food in the mean time! Fried pickles and mushrooms to start. BBQ mac and cheese for the main dish! The pulled pork on top was delicious!

Friendly service and nice atmosphere for out door seating by the river. Coleslaw had a little more malt vinegar taste to it I wasn’t expecting but the fries and hush puppies were great! Fish was undercooked. Definitely more of a place to drink and chill with friends than a great dining experience.

Our visit took place at 7:58pm on Wednesday after my appointment in Austin. We were looking for a new place to visit on the way back home. We usually like to explore new places to eat and this was one of them. The outside had nice curb appeal and an outside eating area. This time of night was a little on the cool side so no people were sitting outside. We walked in and were greates by a bubbly hostess. We explained to her that this was our first time here. So we were not sure where we wanted to be seated. My husband looked at the bar and noticed a couple of seats at the bar so that is where we were seated. We were approached by a bartender by the name of Darby. We found her to be personable, friendly and helpful when it came to finding a micro beer that I liked. We often find bartender that are not familiar with micro beers and perhaps no suggestions are made. She was not that. Which makes her a good bartender. While we did look at the food menu we did not eat there. Impressed by the customer service we received which started with the hostess (Madison) and then finished off with Darby. We will be back to enjoy the outside seating they offer by the water. Once it gets warmer. I would highly recommend this place.
