Went to make a quick deposit today. I've banked at Woodforest Banks for over 20 years. I have noticed a decline in their service lately. Today I tried to make a deposit at the drive through. No one greeted me. I sent my check & deposit to the drive-thru teller. I waited for about 5 minutes - and my check & deposit slip came back to me without a word from anyone. I drove around the building and to the Commercial Teller window - hoping to get to speak to someone - and make my deposit. No one came to the window or acknowledged me in any way. I pressed the call button. No one responded. I blew my horn. No one responded. In the meantime, the customer in the lane to my right was waving feverishly trying to get a teller's attention. They blew their horn. I decided to drive to the front of the bank and go in. I spoke to one of the personnel behind a desk and explained the situation. I ask if I could speak to an officer. She said there was no officer at this site, but she would make my deposit for me. When she returned with my receipt, she handed it to me and said the problem was my check & deposit slip got stuck in the tube, and that was the only problem. I explained that the major problem was no communication from the tellers at the drive thru windows. She said she would communicate that. This is a LONG way from the Woodforest Bank I am accustom to dealing with. I hope things improve.

After just a month of being overdrawn and having been a customer for many years, Woodforest closed my account without calling me, emailing me, or giving me any form of prior notice. This is bad business. I am a widower and have had enhanced financial hardship since the pandemic started. I do not recommend Woodforest to anyone for any reason. It has been very difficult and they have added to my financial hardships substantially by stacking massive fees throughout the period we have been in hardship. They do not care about their customers.

Worst bank ever. Stay away or you will be sorry for yourself if there are unauthorized transactions on your account. Putting a stop to pending unauthorized transactions does nothing even when the managers supposedly put a stop and have you logout and log back in to make sure your money is back in your account, once you leave their office and overnight, your account is withdrawn. Then when you go back to their office, they make you sign some useless form lying to you that they are investigating and will get back to you. Good luck with that, week later nothing, no phone call nothing. Just opened up an account with bank of American and will be changing my direct deposit to a bank that actually protects its customers from fraudulent activities at least.

Never had any problems with this bank. It is geared for blue collar workers but still has nice branches.

I used to Bank here when I was in university. They issued me a debit card that I would use often. However my account balance was always very low because I was a university student. So They constantly ripped me off with overdraft fees even though a balance inquiry at the ATM would show that I had money in my account. I probably paid over 200$ in fees to them which was an enormous amount of money to me at the time. I later learned that it was their business strategy to take advantage of people in this way. A prime example of immoral banking. They might as well be Wells Fargo.

I have banked with Woodforest for over 10 years. I have business, Merchant services & personal. The service has been getting worse by the year they have turned into the regular poorly managed bank. I will be closing all my accounts as soon as I get others established. I will be interviewing financial institutions today. Will be happy to put this bank behind me!
