Burton lumber sucks! They will not sell materials without an account, I tried to open an account and they wouldn’t let me!

Not sure which location is responsible, but they need to hire drivers that know a thing about driving. First, they delivered some lumber and dumped it in the middle of the alley where people drive AND IT WAS DARK NOBODY COULD SEE IT. Second, this morning at a 4 way stop the driver slowed down and went on through and if I had not been able to stop for him he would have hit me. Then he just waved at me. Drivers need to know how to deliver, drive, and what traffic laws are.

Called today about sourcing a glulam beam to repair a carport. Sat on hold forever cause the first guy who picked up the phone had no idea what I was talking about. When someone else finally picked up I was told very cortly "we don't have that here and we don't have any idea where you could source it". Funny, cause a friend of mine bought a glulam beam from them two years ago in the exact same dimensions, and their website has product manuals for glulam beams. Terrible service. I'm not sure how they can even call themselves a lumber yard if they claim to not carry basic products. Oh well! If they don't want my money, I'm happy to take it elsewhere

Just had the best experience with Burton Lumber ! All of the guys at the counter are super patient and helpful. They helped us pick out windows , doors and exterior siding. Just a super group of guys and great customer service! The guys in the yard are great as well , and stayed late to help us load lumber in the truck. I am never disappointed going to Burton Lumber !

I've had multiple experiences with this shop now. We were able to successfully order a door the first time I worked with them, but the man I spoke with did not seem to understand what I was asking for or make an attempt to listen. After a couple days of struggling we finally figured it out and the door came in quickly. The next experience was yesterday and I spoke to the same man at the desk, who did not seem to listen to me or understand what I was asking for. My husband and I left just blown away by the incompetence and incredibly frustrating experience. Today I called the door shop hoping to have a better experience and talked to a different man, who also did not listen to my needs and continually spoke over me.I will never attempt to work with Burton Lumber again.

I went in there this morning 4/28/20 and asked if they could help match some base board, the guy at the counter said yeah go outside and look... I said where I have never been here before... he just pointed where I needed to go. So I said something on my way out the door and it looked to be a manager that stopped me and said “were trying to social distance” okay so you can’t help me from 6feet away?? No... these guys are rude and I will never do business with them again. The guy out in the yard had more customer service than the guys in customer service. Shame on your management team.

If you're in need of lumber and want to spend your money at a company where employees are taking their own safety and the safety of customers seriously during the current pandemic, *DO NOT* go to Burton Lumber in Holladay. NONE of their employees were wearing masks. They also seemed to be bothered that I was wearing a mask, but it could just be that they have terrible customer service in general. At least they had the lumber I was looking for.

I think this was the best experience I’ve ever had working with a bunch of men. I went in to get decking for a deck a friend and I are building. Armando took my lackluster drawing and figured the dimensions for me. The product was ordered and arrived before he said it would. When I went to pick it up the guys were wonderful. They loaded it for me and strapped it down extra tight to make sure it wouldn’t move. They even lended me tie downs. Thanks for the help guys!

I bought an 8 foot beam and was told it would arrive from their distributor the next day. I drive out to pick it up the expected delivery date. They said they couldn't fit it in the truck so they left it off it. No phone call. Then, with that same beam my project changed requiring a larger and longer beam. I call them asking if I can return the old beam and buy a new one. They said yes. I buy the new beam, pick it up and then they refuse to return the 8 foot beam. I am going to be looking elsewhere for my future needs.
