Young boy cashier accused my husband and I of trying to steal a 2.99 pack of BBQ. We bought over170.00 worth of groceries. We did not see the package sitting in the seat right in plain site but him and I both missed it. The cashier didnt ask, he just started saying loudly your trying to steal that....we still had no clue what the heck he was talking about....I am getting very embarrassed because everyone looking at us at this point. He finally pointed to what he was talking about, I put it on belt and he scanned it. I paid for our order over 170.00 and left crying and shaking. My husband was just trying to calm me down so we did not speak to manager. I have since reported the incident to corporate and waiting for response now. This was my second time to this store, out of convenience, but I WILL DRIVE AS FAR AS NECESSARY TO NOT GO TO THIS STORE AGAIN! P.s. my hubby and I are seniors and disabled. So be careful when you go to this store. If it happened to us, it will happen to anyone. Just thought I would add that "corporate office" never got back to us nor any body for that matter! We have stayed out of that store ON SALEM ROAD and we have never encountered anything like that since.

Came here a few times this past week and the store is very nice and very clean. They had a wide variety of food and other products including wines and other alcoholic beverages. They had everything that I needed to get from here except for jumbo shells for stuffed shells. Other than that I would definitely come back again in the future.

No real complaints wit FoodLion. Some items are pricey, but where are they not pricey. The Salem Road / Independence store has a great fruit room! Clean, friendly staff most of the time Cashiers!!

I love the new look of this store, gives a real clean vibe and organized 👌. As if the isle were well manicured by a robotic system it was hard to find things out of place in this store. The management I'm sure has implemented these standards and it shows because I notice these things. I liked how interactive the staff were in the rear of the store as if that's their "front of the store" territory and helped anyone passing by with questions and answers and were out even organizing the positions and rows to make them better looking because some people messed it up. The veggies were super plush and kept misted as to not dry out. Oh and one more thing, you have very clean floors and I did inspect the bathroom as well and believe it or not smelled really good and was very clean 👏

This food lion is right across from my church so it makes for a convenient grocery stop on Sundays after church but today was the first time I stopped to pick up some things. This was the first ever Food Lion I have been into that has an enclosed (2 open doorways) refrigerated section for all produce. If you've ever been to Costco then you know what I'm referring to. It was awesome to have a selection with such quality and freshness. Everything was well organized and the staff was great. They were definitely busy but I still had little to no wait time. Great place to stop for affordable, quality, groceries and whatever else you may need.

The Food Lion on Salem Road has a better selection and better quality produce than the other FL's around. Clean store and well stocked. Have continued to shop there in last 6 months. Consistently well stocked.

Food Lion has come a long way. I use to be a die hard Farm Fresh person until they went away. Now that I am close to this grocery store I have a different opinion of Food Lion. This store is always well stocked. This store is also consistently clean. The prices are very good for the quality. The meats are fresh and are above average in quality. The employees are courteous and polite. I have to give a special shout out to two employees in the deli department. Their two names are Katie and Samayah aka Sam. The two are a true delight to shop with. they are SUPER employees well worthy of great praise and recommendation. My mind about food lion has now been changed and I have nothing but good things to say. I now LOVE this store and would not grocery shop anywhere else.

Some of the prices for random items are more expensive than at other grocery stores (like Target) which is sometimes surprising depending on what the items are (like canned goods). The lines always move fairly quickly and we love that they bag produce and cold items in blue bags and the rest of your groceries in white bags. That makes it really easy to quickly identify what needs to be brought inside the house first (and put into the fridge) when it’s really hot outside. The parking lot has lights, but it’s not very well lit at night. I’ve never felt unsafe, but if you have kids or are concerned with safety, I wouldn’t recommend visiting when the sun is down just because it’s certainly a lot darker than other grocery store parking lots.
