Spicy, adventurous, cajun food. Not to kid friendly. I got the cajun sampler dish with a house salad. I enjoyed the red beans and rice. The shrimp creole was good when I didn't get shells in my mouth. The craw fish stuff was not so good.

Not sure what the deal is, but this place has gone downhill. Took 20mins to be seated even though there were very few people there. Bless the waitress, guess she was new. She had no answers to our questions. We were seated in a booth. It was so nasty. Had not been swept in weeks. Don't think we will be back.

Great atmosphere, music, and service. I had the brisket, which was great, but a bit spicy for me. The zucchini fries with house made remoulade sauce were fantastic. I'd definitely recommend it. There's an attached little store with multiple alcoholic options if you're looking for something to take home.

Very enjoyable dinner. Cajun and bbq is not necessarily quintessential mountain fare, but sometimes a hankering for Cajun just can't be ignored. Additionally we were drawn by the outdoor seating and live music in the adjacent courtyard. They allow you to buy a bottle of wine in their shop and they will cork without a fee. Tried some local beers they have on draft. Food was good, not outstanding. Cajun voodoo pasta was tasty. Gumbo and shrimp Creole were also good. Server was nice and down to earth. Overall recommend for the combo of food and outdoor seating ambiance when the music is scheduled.

Our waitress Alex was very attentive and nice and the bacon cheese fries were great but our entree was very bad. My medium rare ribeye was shades of pink and pale more reminiscent of pork loin . The sauce on my girlfriend's voodoo pasta tasted like a jar of grocery store queso and the chicken was tough and flavorless. According to our waitress there was only 1 cook working at the time.

It's a Lousiana/Texas themed bar and they did it right The menu had a good selection of different foods. The bbq platter was good all the way through. The BBQ was smoked well. The Cajun platter was great. Plenty of shrimp and good chunks the sausage. The gravy but that gumbo...when she told me it was hot ooh is it spicy. But the flavor! It's definitely worth a visit

Exceeds expectations. This place gets 5 stars simply because the food was amazing. They have an absolutely delicious Cajun style pasta that I will be getting again! Great place to pair up with a ski trip!

Took forever to get anyone to even take our name, let alone seat us. There were plenty of open tables and waitresses, however they appeared to be busy conversating around the bar. Wait time was approximately 25mins with no one else waiting. Appetizers came out incorrect. Original nachos had jalapeños which was ordered without. They literally took back the plate and just removed them. Glad we wasn't allergic! 12oz ribeyes were more like 3 ozs of beef and 9ozs of pure fat. Steaks had absolutely no taste and was either frozen or cooked with an ice cube as seeing all of the water coming out of it. 30 seconds before the plates were brought out, we were told that they didn't have anymore baked potatoes. Original waitress was nice, but had to swap with a guy where she could wash dishes as we were told. The guy was def not enjoying life or he hated his job. All in all, this visit did not reflect the previous reviews that led to us chosing this location.

This last visit I really wanted their Voodoo Pasta dish but it’s always just too spicy for me. I asked our amazing waiter & he let me know I could order it mild so I did. I’m so happy now. It’s a great dish (large portion = leftovers). They really do have a great menu. Their brisket is amazing. Bayou is my go to place for a big amazing cheeseburger when I’m in Banner Elk. Like most places right now (2021) the staff seems stretched out & are doing an amazing job. I’m thankful they managed to stay open during 2020 & are still strong in 2021. We ♥️ Bayou.

This place was so neat! The food was SO FREAKING GOOD! My husband got the Voodoo wings, a little salty but good sized and meaty. He also got the fried crawfish tails which were awesome. I had the Salad Evangeline. Perfect for anyone that loves salad, fried green tomatoes, and seafood.
