I had a classmate who tried to take her dog here and they were going to put him to sleep right away. I also read all of the reviews and there’s more bad than good. Making pathetic excuses to KILL animals. Just because you claim to euthanize them does make you good people. Like what is wrong with you people? Just say you don’t have room and send the animals to a different shelter who actually care. I never wish for bad things upon people but I hope something happens to everyone here in return from all the animals lives they unnecessarily took.

I was able to surrender the cat 🐈 my friend said he would take when they found somewhere to live but they can't because of how much they would have to pay for the cat 🐈 so I figured to take the cat there to find a better place to live

Thank you for the adoption of our dog! They were very nice to us. They gave us plenty of time to play with her outside and to fill out the application, and was able to talk to someone about the adoption. Our dog we adopted was a surrender they had for almost 6 months and shes so sweet. Thank you for helping us with our adoption after we lost our last dog. We love her so much! Shes such a big Cheese Curd!

We don’t know what’s up with this place. We understand that they are understaffed but shouldn’t they buckle down and get these dogs adopted even so? Instead we never heard back, called everyday until we were told that the dog we were interested in got adopted. A couple weeks later I see a post on their Facebook page that he’s available for adoption. Instead of contacting the people who’s application was approved already they just collected more applications - but they’re understaffed and too busy to move on in the application process with us? The dog we wanted is still there after months, even though there’s a lot of people who would like to give him a home. We adopted another dog now which took a couple hours at Dane County Humane Society. I feel terrible for any dog that ends up there because it seems like they’ll never leave because the people are “too busy”. I can’t help but feel like they don’t want the dogs to find a home. Very strange and sad.

Super rude lady who answered the phone!!!! I was asking about a dog which said was still available on their website and was trying to ask questions about it and she was super rude and cut me off while I was asking. And said sorry you can’t see the dog or fill out applications even though the dog was still available and didn’t have an owner yet. Wow. That lady ruined my day by how she spoke to me With all do respect to you. You can be nicer to people when answering the phone. If you would have said it in a nice way I would have understood. There’s a reason why this place has a bunch of 1 star reviews

I came to find a dog and the situation as a whole is just sad. The health and care of the animals seems like one of the last priorities here. The building has way to many animals in it to the point where half the lobby is filled rabbits and guinea pigs. The two dogs I interacted with were not getting the care they desperately need and both of their coats were soaked in urine. There is definitely a hygiene issue at this shelter, I can barely call it a humane society because almost any other shelter would be 20 times nicer for the animals.

The worst place to adopt your future pet. Ryan who showed us the dog we were planning to adopt was friendly and very cooperative in explaining everything. The rest of the team never called to update us about the approval process and kept asking for nonsense requirements over 2 weeks and we were the ones who call to check. Every time they ask for something new and the lady was very rude in answering us. We canceled the application and went to another shelter where we got our new puppy in a matter of an hour.

If I can get this place is zero I would. It is absolutely disgusting how they treat their animals. Do not Surrender your animal here! They will put them down for no reason. They are a kill shelter. They should be disgusted with themselves. They will lie to your face, tell you that they will take your dog in and find a nice home for them, just to turn around and tell you that they have to put them down for a mistake the dog made. Absurd. Mind you, we let them know about the situation in advance. So they had no reason to turn the tables on us and our dog. I would also like to add that they had our dog for an hour and a half and within the hour and a half they must’ve hurt him or something. When we got him back and saved him from being killed, he was shaking and afraid of us. That’s not like him. Also the lady yelled at him in front of us. For no reason! I’m so beyond disgusted. Repot this place if you can.

Adopted my lil fur-baby here, they were accommodating during the whole process. They took good care of her after she was spayed. They have strict guidelines in adopting rabbits which I really appreciate.
