Food was okay. Nothing wrong with it, but just very standard. Service was very great. Bartender with green hair was super sweet. Food : 2/5 | Service : 5/5 | Atmosphere : 3/5 … More

Really good food! Service was great. The only thing is they add a 10% “service charge”. When I asked the waitress about it she said it’s so they can make more than minimum wage. That’s fine. But I ask, why not increase the prices by 10% to pay your employees better? Oh I know why, because the owner wants to add hidden costs.

I really wanted to like this place. Keep in mind that Umami and Tavernakaya are the same place. Let's start off with the good things, the service was good, and the dumplings weren't half bad. Now for the bad, the house salad was just ok, but the real awful was the ramen. We had the tonkotsu ramen with the spicy bomb and garlic bomb add on the server recommended. The ramen noodles were good. But the broth had a very fishy, saba (mackerel) taste to it (in pork broth?). The meat was sliced really thin and had a weird taste too. To kill it off the "spicy" bomb wasn't even close, siracha is more spicy. Maybe their sushi is better, but if half of your business is a Ramen bar, I would hope your ramen would be better than what I can get at a decent asia mart for $5.

I adore this place.. if you want homemade noodles and a garlic bomb.. I still think best place in town for ramen.. my one issue is that they use to have two sizes in dumplings.. totally get with food prices not a thing.. but can they make a dumplings meal lol? I always want like a bucket of dumplings.. 7 for like 10$ now if you want more than once sauce is rough.. like doubling down is too much money.. but I’d pay like 18-19$ for a dumplings meal that was like 14-15 dumplings and two sauces … amazing food.. just food prices are rising for everyone .. think about a dumplings meal tho.. I’d order that weekly to have leftovers .. get the ramen with the garlic bomb tho.. worth every penny for that! And buns are dope but pricy .. splurge when you have the option to on them ..they are yummy but small, like a spring roll kinda jig.. expect big flavor but smaller bites . Vegetarian options: Veggie dumplings and ramen are the best in town by far

What you'd expect out of a college town Asian joint. Good food, adequate hipsteresque service and expensive. NOTE TO MANAGEMENT...It is a really bad look when the servers stare and stand over you when presenting the digital bill and expect a 30% tip(prompted as an option on the digital bill)...I don't mind tipping that amount and more when the service is exceptional but it simply wasn't this visit. And I certainly won't tip that amount when it feels like I'm being pressured or panhandled. Might want to revisit your policy on how the bills are handled.

It's a nice restaurant in downtown Madison. I wouldn't say the food tasted amazing, the presentation and the interior is nice. The draft beer choices are lackluster for a avid craft beer fan like me but they have a lot of hard seltzers as an option. Overall, it's nice place, a bit pricey but who is not these days.

Loved their fried rice. It's very nicely done with rice cooked to proper consistency. Service was very good and my family enjoyed the other dishes too. A must visit place to try some of Asian dishes.

Pork Buns- delicious. I could eat 10 of them. Some of the best Steak Udon I’ve had! We also got ramen because it would have been wrong not to. Great flavored broth and they packaged it with instructions so it wasn’t soggy. It was the perfect lunch after being outside in the cold all morning. Wished we lived closer so we could come back all the time!

They've got pretty good Ramen, but I wouldn't recommend their "poke" option - it comes deconstructed, without rice. It didn't taste bad, but it wasn't very filling at all like most other Madison poke bowl places. Just not very much food for what you pay for.

Very bland broth on the brunch ramen, both the vegan and the pork broth version, not very interesting. The pork belly is prepared immaculately though! Also, the bacon dumplings are basically just pierogis, but they are great!
