Really wanted to like this place, but not a great experience. Some of the food was really good…and some was really bad. Lazy Susan and Shrimp cocktail appetizer were great. Orange Roughy was fresh and well seasoned. However, French Onion soup was bland. Husband ordered surf and turf. Steak was way overdone, small, and tasted funny. Fried Shrimp was over breaded and gummy. Server was good through drinks and apps course, but then disappeared after dinner was served. Need a bit more consistency.

Fantastic service pairs with a classic supper club vibe at Dobie's Steak House. The lazy Susan and bread basket are great! Standard iceberg house salad, and Soup offering (The restaurant ran out of the house soup so we were served French Onion). Very good shrimp and the steak was cooked to a good medium rare while being somewhat bland. The issues unfortunately started with my Fish Fry as the fish was not fully cooked, and the batter was oozing out. I asked the server to have the kitchen fry two new pieces a little longer and the result was one over fried stringy piece of fish that still had uncooked batter oozing out. The other piece of fish was fried well with good flavor. Oh Dobie's we started off so strong and ended with more questions than answers. Is the fish used in the Fish Fry Frozen? Is too much batter the problem? GAH. 3.0 (5.0)

I work here for a total of over 25 years and all my time put together in his restroom so I know the food is good and that's why I keep on coming back even though the original owners just sold it in April the food is still delicious the Lazy Susan is just an extra sweet touch and the food is always amazing the staff is always nice and cordial sometimes you have to wait because they're a little bit over staffed and they only have two girls to run the whole place but they're getting it back to where it needs to be at the new Decor just as a pop to the restaurant that it was missing and the way the new owner is doing things the inside of the restaurant just look so beautiful with the black new linen and stuff like that but the old owners had all the great recipes from Grandma d o b i e s so as long as they keep on making the tenderloin tips over noodles with onions green peppers and mushrooms I'll be keep on coming back and all those jumbo shrimp those are the times for you can't forget that Haystack on your brain yummy so it'll always be a five out of five for me

I'm not one to review often. Not a bad place, however, for the amount of the check... I was disappointed. For not much more money, one of the local high end steak and seafood places would have resulted in steaks that are stored and cooked correctly. The freshness and overall quality of the steaks were low end. The portions of the sides miniscule. If I had been charged half, or maybe a little more; I would of been content. Friendly service and prompt. I'm sure othermenu items are good. After recieving a response from the "owner", it is clear they did not read my review, or worse. I will be more clear...I will not be back. Was the steak freezer burned or re-heated in the microwave? Response is not necessary, please check your quality control.

As always the food and service is amazing. Been coming to this place for years and no owners will be taking over soon, big shoes to fill. If you are ever in the area this is a for sure place for fish fry, steaks, shrimp etc and of course a Old Fashion from a Supper Club. Enjoy!!

I haven't been here in years. Just recently moved back to this area. It was my parents favorite special place. My sister and I enjoyed it immensely,so nostalgic. The food was everything I remembered and more. Serving sizes off the charts. We had the porterhouse and it was so big my leftovers wouldn't fit in the togo container. Staff was friendly and inviting. Service was top notch. Will definitely be back.

We visited this on our attempt to visit every supper club in Wisconsin. This is a decent supper club if you're looking for a casual bite and excellent service! Lots of menu options too. Everything we ordered was pretty good. I just wish my baked fish was a little more crispy (although I did eat the entire thing, and it was huge!), and the liver pâté didn't really taste like anything. The onion haystack appetizer was awesome! Plus all of the workers were really nice and attentive. Not too much of an ambience, per se, but very friendly crowd! 7/10 would recommend, but not sure I'll make the trip to eat there again.

Great bartender, cocktails, service and same atmosphere since the 70s. Food is not. A hockey puck size filet and 2 shrimp for $35...was not the Dobies I remember. The French onion soup with cheese...was not traditional baked...was shredded cheese melted into the soup that lacked onions but not on salt..the shrimp wasn't the same either.. but the tenderloin was the saddest of all since that was their signature steak. Very disappointed for this long awaited visit.

Always wanting to give this place a try we finally did this past week. It was a Friday night around 7:30pm. Good crowd and it was busy. I had the porterhouse medium rare with mushrooms. It was fantastic. Also had a few old fashioned which where good as well. Finished with some homemade cheesecake. Overall it was great and will be back! If your looking for a great local establishment, this is one to check out!

Classic old school environment. Great bartender, drinks and nice lazy susan...Excited for my liver pate....but then took a downward spiral..French onion soup was basically an overly salty beef broth..I couldn't find any onions and not baked. Just some shredded cheese laying on top. Unfortunately, the inflated price of beef must have shrunk our filet (surf and turf) immensely. Very sadly, not worth $32 for 2 ok shrimp and guessing 3-4 oz piece of meat. Not the Dobies I remember...we were so looking forward to a nice meal.
