Very disappointed in Ace Hardware in Hazel Green. They refused to give me my normal 10% military Discount. They had always given it to me in the past. They actually told me to go to Lowes to get it. Ace website shows military get 10% and even this month get up to 20% on some items. After 27 years and 3 wars and 1 disabling injury I am not very happy about them doing this. I will email corporate about this situation and will never walk into their doors again. Military retired or disabled beware.

I typically don't mind paying a higher price at ace hardware in hazelgreen because of the convenience and being a smaller alternative to the big stores however today I went in there to buy some electrical boxes for work, They had several single boxes and 4 contractor boxes on the shelf with 100 boxes each. I grabbed one of those and a few other miscellaneous boxes. When I went to check out the lady scanned the box like usual but a man (I assume the manager or owner) came up and told her not to scan it that way but to open the box scan the single box instead and change quantity to 100 so I had to pay the per box price rather than the contractor discount I asked him do we not get a discount buying the contractor box here like everywhere else and he replied "not rite now while you can't find them anywhere else". How is that not price gouging? When a home depot or lowes moves out here they will be out of business within a month and be complaining about how they are being pushed out and want the community to pitch in and support the local business but rite now they feel its fine to take advantage of the community for a few bucks? Il drive the extra 30 min from now on.....

We dropped our house plans off over 3 months ago. They never got back with us so when my husband asked a man in the store about it he said he had a bunch on his desk and told the people that work there not to give him anymore. My daughter called over 2 months ago about her window that is broke and was told they would call her back the next day. We spoke with them on Wednesday and I told the man the problems we have had and he wanted my phone number but we’ve never heard back from them. 12/23/21Worst place to do business. We called to check on a price for lumber and when we got there they had raised the price from what they had just told us. We left. This was our try again but not anymore. Ridiculous!

Employees offered no help, was just focused on closing an hour early. I spent that last hour trying to find plumber pieces because there's no organization system to it at all. Ended up just getting shark brand parts because of how simple they make it. Little more pricey but I wanted to go home.

Just left this location. This was my 1st visit here and most likely my last. I asked if they gave a veteran discount and was told they did. I showed the employee my state issued AL driver's license which shows my Veteran status. The employee said "They normally show their military I.D.". I explain this was a state issued I.D. that had my veteran status verified by the state. She said nothing and wouldn't issue the discount. Another employee spoke up and said "Thank you for your service to our country instead of staying home and playing video games". Well, I appreciate the support but don't appreciate not accepting my government issued ID with my veteran status clearly marked on it. I will be returning to Lowe's/Home Depot who clearly accept state issued veteran status ID. The 2 mentioned competitors actually verify Veteran status' and store them in their system for future purchases. I tried to support my smaller/local business but had a bad experience and will likely not return. I also tried to educate the employee the whole reason for this logo by the state of AL was for ID/discount purposes. She didn't seem to believe me or care.

I was needing some 4 foot dollels so I could stake my tomato plants. The staff was so very helpful and knowledgeable. He knew just what I wanted. The store has everything you need for whatever project you're working on. The friendly staff even helps you figure out how much you might need for your projects and still keeping your budget in mind. I definitely will tell all my friends about Ace Hardware Store and their staff. I would recommend Ace Hardware Store to family and friends.

Good customer service and building supplies. Good local hardware that has a great selection. They don’t carry sprinkler heads.
