Great place for Crocs specifically! Picked up some white ones a few days ago, that are just perfect! By the way, I hadn't bought crocs in years, and the store clerk was very helpful in choosing sizes and colors! 5/5 stara!

Today's experience is the worst experience to buy kid's shoes because of the bad customer service. I've never seen such customer service so rude, judgemental, and arrogant attitude. We are old customers who used to love this store. Today we would like to pick a crocs for my daughter, and she tried on 3 pairs in order to decide on the right size. We finally picked one and even though the color is not that perfect, we chose the one that the store has (the whole selection process didn't exceed 5 mins without any help from the clerk. We just tried what the store has very quickly). Then my husband wanted to see if he could get a pair, and just picked one. Since the store doesn't have any discount, and I didn't plan to buy an adult pair, I used my phone to check if crocs have more adult options, with discounts (I would like to at least know the prices and options from the website). So my husband told the clerk 'hold on, and we may not buy this pair'. This is how the clerk replied 'Sorry you cannot use our shoes as the measurement to buy them online'. I was shocked. We even didn't try on the shoes! How come the clerk just assumed us that we used the pair as the measurement and is so judgemental! We decided to buy the shoes for my daughter as she loved them. When checking out, I asked 'can I compare the price in this store?'. I even explained to the clerk that we never tried to use your products as measurements. She insisted that 'no measurement', and she said that this made her upset. I explained again, and she said OK, no apologize, and even without looking at me. I don't know why Howard's shoes store treats customers this way. It looks like I am the clerk and the clerk is the customer, and I need to explain and avoid making her feel upset. She even blamed us for her imagined behavior. This is just ridiculous. We love local stores and support the local stores, but the customers should not be treated with this rude, judgemental attitude. (I never heard of one single shoe store not allowing customers to compare prices, or customers have to decide to buy the shoes before they try them on, let alone that we even didn't try on the shoes we just compared A BIT, and bought the shoes we tried on...) I will never come to this store anymore unless the clerks change how they treat the customers. UPDATE: from the review response, I can tell how arrogant the store is. I don't think the clerk told the truth. She blamed us even BEFORE we went to the front. The logic I can see from the response is: It is ME to explain the action, so it is MY fault... Since I bought the shoes eventually, so the clerk's behavior has no problem. I cannot even check online and suggested to my husband not to rush since the clerk is there (at that time, we had finished the conversation with the clerk and we talked privately like you mentioned. BTW, the clerk mentioned that we used another language and how come she knows what we were talking about, so I guess she just assumed everything and said that I was planning to purchase online which is not true...) The clerk may forget to mention that she told us that we tried the shoes on so we couldn't use them as the measuring guide. Ironically, we bought the one that we tried, and the one we checked was never tried. I don't know how we can use never-tried-on shoes as the measuring guide. BTW, we know the clerk was busy helping the other customer so we just tried by ourselves, as we know the local store is not easy. However, I really think the clerk didn't treat customers (or a part of customers?) well, and the store even didn't try to find the truth and handle it properly. We are very disappointed.

Whoever was working couldn’t be bothered to pause or end her personal conversation on the phone to help. I had to find a shoe and when asked for a specific size the response was “no, we don’t have it.” So you don’t have it or do you not want to be bothered to look? She didn’t make any other recommendations or help in any way. Looks like I’ll be driving out to Palo Alto now for kids shoes.

Poor customer service. I went with the intention to buy 2 pairs of shoes but the service was so bad that I ended up buying 1. Literally, the saleswoman was behind the desk watching me like she is making a favor for selling a pair of shoes. Very bad attitude. I come to this store for year but I won’t come back again. Only a young lady offered to help me. She was nice but the other saleswoman was terrible.

Had a great experience shopping here today for my daughter’s first pair of shoes. Carla was very patient and attentive to us. I felt confident that we picked the right size and type with her knowledge.

Poor customer service. Sold me smaller shoes when I went there for help without any knowledge what size my son should wear. I would expect more on their service if I were paying more on those shoes than in the internet. The manager and the associate both helped me to pick up a new pair of shoes for my 2 year old. They measured the feet to know which shoe size he should have and they said that the shoe size should be 7, a half size up from his exact feet size. The funny thing is that the manager gave me shoes of size 6 but said that it's the right shoe size. I just believed what she said without checking the size when the associate put on the shoes on my son's. My son was walking with them and I trusted that they must know which shoes he should have, so I ended up purchasing it. I realized it when I went back home and checking more carefully that the shoes didn't have a lot of wiggle room and saw that it's a size 6. When I tried to return it, a different associate was the only one there. She helped me and measured his feet again which she said they need a shoe size 7. They didn't have the same shoe of size 7 though. I should be able to get a refund since it was their mistake for giving me the wrong shoe size for my toddler and told me a wrong size. But they wouldn't give me a refund. I could harm my toddler's foot if he wore the shoes that didn't have room to grow. Update This is to clarify my point after reading the company's response below. It is true that my son tried on different shoes, but he tried just two pairs of shoes to compare different brands: I asked for Stride Rite, a brand I had heard of before, as the first option and the second brand was recommended by the manager, Pedi Ped. When the manager pulled out the Pedi Ped from the back storage for my son to try on, she said that it was the "same size" as the Stride Rite (size 7) that my son was trying on at the time. So after she said that, I didn't expected that it was a smaller size actually. I left it to them to get the right shoe size on the shoes to try on. I never asked them to give me shoes of any specific sizes, which means I never said to give me shoes of "size 6", or "size 6.5", or "size 7". I even asked before I left the store how long should his feet still fit in the Pedi Ped shoes that I was purchasing and was told 2-4 months, which is an ample time range for the feet to grow. I left thinking that I had bought a size 7 based on the information they had said to me. I explained on my second visit that I didn't want to drive back to the store for the third time to pick up a shoe size 7 order or talk to the manager on the next day, since I don't live near there. I didn't want their assistance/advice on looking for a different shoe anymore either. I immediately called my husband outside when I learned that I couldn't get a refund, and we decided to just get store credit to avoid the hassle of calling the credit card company. I walked back to the store afterwards. I am sharing my experience so that other parents can be spared from the trouble that I went through. It's disappointing that they haven't tried to contact me by phone or messaging privately after my review, but they responded in a very defensive way on this public platform.

Good shoes. Decent prices as there was a buy one get second shoe half off deal. Service is really fast but in general not too courteous or kind. I just wish they would work on those aspects of their service and they would otherwise be a great store. We did buy two good shoes there.

Updating from last year. We recently came to get my 4yo and 2yo new shoes during the SIP/Quarantine. We had to make an appointment to be seen. The ladies were quick, friendly and helpful. It was comfortable enough to bring my newborn baby in the car seat and covered too. Was able to compromise with my kids on quality while they still were able to get color and sparkles on the shoes. it was nice to be the only family shopping, especially after they just had their carpets freshly cleaned. We come annually for my kids and are never disappointed.

Absolutely the best place in the Bay to buy kids shoes. The staff knows all of the brands and their respective fit. Cheerful, quick, super accommodating and it doesn't hurt that there's a Philz across the street. Pronto: go early for parking!
