They don't have a dedicated sporting goods staff person. Sign back there says go to front register for fishing licenses. I wanted to buy ammo for skeet shooting, but couldn't be bothered to do 2 register sporting goods checkout. This store seriously doesn't care. I heard the Atascadero one was better, but haven't tried it yet

Worst ammo prices in the state and they refuse to sell me ammo even though i was polite and im in the system. I’ll just take my business elsewhere

Amazing experience and service. Personnel over there is really cheerful and gives positive energy.

Walked in, got a nice welcome and offer to assist, went directly to what I wanted, perused the sale footwear. Store is displays are crowded on the floor, typical for Big5. Very clean nonetheless. Always a pleasant experience.

Came in earlier at 3pm to get my son's soccer socks. Lady clerk was friendly. Did say anything about us or few others not wearing masks. Now it's 5:40pm to get goalie gloves and the young guy in the front was rude. Needs an attitude adjustment or to leave whatever he is upset about at the door before coming to work. If we are to wear masks I have no problem going to get one which I did. He said "two signs should be enough to tell you. Obviously someone wasn't doing their job if the let you in with no masks."

I was shopping and there were a few people doing the same. As I finish getting my stuff and reach the counter. The clerk called for a manager for assistance. The manager informed me she had already closed out the register and could not help me. I would have to come back the next day to purchase my merchandise. Mide you I had over $200 in goods. And they were not closed. How is that my problem? I'll never shop there again. Guess they can close early if they fill like it.

Big 5 is a good all round sporting goods store. The quality is average to better than average depending on what product line your buying. Good for finding some of those larger sizes like 14 men's and occasionally a 15 men's. Customer service is average with the overall selection covering most of the bases.

Felt like I was being treated as if I was going to steal. The whole time I was shopping for shoes the employees would not take their eyes off me. I was wearing my cozy UGG boots and trying on shoes that were less than $30. The manager is not friendly. Will never shop here again!

This is a pretty good store for most of what we need. They have great, helpful, kind hearted employees who have a decent knowledge of the items they have in store. Their sale items aren't always marked well, but the staff is always willing to check on anything for you. Their return policy is great, if your purchase doesn't seem to be what you needed.
