I’m a new shopper at Sports Basement, and have been pleased with my two experiences. The folks in the bike shop were super friendly, helpful, informative. The woman in the clothing department listened to my request, took me to two departments, and asked a co- worker for more information to help me find what I needed. Yep, I’ll definitely be back to check winter sports gear!

Came in for volleyball knee pads and the store was just immaculate on the variety of products they offered. It’s such a huge store. An associate approached me and saw me looking at kneepads and insisted I look right behind me for more options that I clearly overlooked. 5 stars to the staff from greeter to helper to cashier.

Blake and his crew make this my favorite place to shop. Whenever I am looking to make a purchase the staff is not just courteous and cheerful but there is always someone in the store who seems to be an expert on whatever I may need expert advice on. They seem more like qualified sport enthusiasts that are just helping out a friend. The other day I was with a friend who wanted to stop in to a different sporting goods store. The vibe was completely different. It ranged from staff being annoyed to have their personal conversations with other employees interrupted by needing to assist us or lack luster people trying to sell you anything even if it wasn't the right fit for our needs. I told by friend we need to go to the Sports Basement instead! Additionally I appreciate the availability of a meeting space so the mental health support group can meet together. Sometimes meeting in public spaces cause those suffering with anxiety to be uncomfortable but the staff at the front desk always greets us warmly and has contributed to increasing the successful management of our mental well-being. Ian does a great job coordinating the use of the meeting space. Over all I think the Santa Rosa Sports Basement is the best shopping experience in Sonoma County or possibly the entire world! I know that sounds like an overstatement but if you go there once you will no doubt agree with me 100%. Whatever you are doing from a corporate management perspective must be working well because the love and joy of the employees is felt by the customers. Thank you for creating a wonderful shopping experience in this crazy world. It is deeply appreciated!

SB is always clean and organized. I typically find at least two must have items each trip. I like the selection in the clearance section. The employees appear to be well informed on most items and will seek help when needed. One of my favorite stores.

The selection and staff are beyond compare. I spoke with a young man about shoes for working out and his knowledge was surprising. He asked me a series of questions regarding my feet, my posture, what I liked about my existing shoes and was able to narrow my search down to a few different choices. I am completely satisfied with my new shoes. This is my new go-to store for outdoor clothing and equipment.

Colin in the bike service department was most helpful. I can highly recommend SB Santa Rosa for great service. I took off one star because my $250 deposit was not refunded. And if I hadn't caught it on my CC I wonder if I would have been charged twice. This also happened to my travel companion.

Sports Basement employees are always helpful, cheerful and kind. I love going in there. I’m not a great big store shopper, but it feels like a community store in Sports Basement. So much good outdoors stock and my 10% membership discount too! Thanks to all who make it possible.

The Sports Basement gives 10% back to the support of their local communities. What makes them special is their ability to make the outdoors accessible to everyone. You can rent bicycles for the whole family. Camping equipment is also available for rental. During the ski season, ski equipment can be rented also. When buying sports gear, you you can feel comfortable in knowing that they have one of the most liberal return policies in the business. On top of that, I found the staff very friendly and patient in explaining their policies and helping getting you the sporting equipment your interested in.

Stopped in to get some bikes for our boys (5.5 year old twins). Wyatt was great helping out and getting us in our way. Unfortunately one of the bikes had a manufacturing defect…no one could have known. I stopped back same day and they swapped it out with no paperwork or issues. I greatly appreciated the service, good nature, and speed of the bikes department. The boys are enjoying their “big boy” bikes. Thanks Wyatt and Sports Basement!

The entire staff is beyond kind, however Whitney and Grace have been extraordinary in going out of their way to be kind and helpful to the homeless population in the area and deserve special accolades. If they’re a representation of the heart behind the company - I refuse to shop anywhere else for anything sports and outdoors related. I hope the rest of the country starts to step up the way Sports Basement does - especially everyone operating the Santa Rosa location. I thank all of you for being exceptional - as does my herd.
