Awful experience. We rented a forklift from Rob. We rented on a Friday. It worked, at first, but then, stopped functioning entirely. After a while, it would start if you tried starting it for long periods of time and you had to pray it would start. We lost more than two days' worth of time on our machine because it was set up for this specific project. We tried calling several times and our calls were not returned and the voice mailbox for Rob was full so we were unable to leave a message. When we finally got him on Sunday, he said he would not come to pick it up as they do not work on Sundays. They do charge for Saturday and Sunday, but they're not available to fix a broken machine nor will they pick it up. When I explained the machine was not working, Rob stated this was an 'unforeseen' circumstance and offered a 10% refund. Our machine that was tied up due to their incompetence runs at $120 per hour. I finally called the main office and Dennis, the owner, made some excuses but did agree to only bill us for 2 days instead of 4, a total savings of far less than what we lost (16 hours worth of time on our $120/hr machine). We were still billed for all other incidentals including delivery and pick up fees. He did not offer any apologies nor acknowledge our lost income. I would highly recommend being diligent about your dealings with Western Material, Western Engines, and ABetterForkLift.com.

Dennis is an absolute wealth of knowledge. We had an issue with a starter on a lift in Buena Vista which was purchased from Western. By asking me a few simple questions over the phone, he was able to properly diagnose the issue. The best part was that they made things right without hesitation. Their integrity and excellent customer service has made a huge fan of these guys.

Consumer BEWARE! I originally contacted Rick Eakins & Dennis, to repair our forklift. When speaking with Rick, he originally quoted me at $300-400 for the the repair of the forklift. I agreed with Rick that at that price the repairs could be performed. The following, week I reached out to Rick to enquirer about the status of my Forklift repair. Rick stated the repairs have been performed, and completed and the fork lift was ready to be collected. However, when I arrived to pick up my forklift, the bill he left me with was not what we had agreed too, nor did Rick ever contact me about potential additional charges. As stated before the original repair price estimate was $300-400. Rick left me with a bill of $1640.In my agreement with rick, I never authorized him to exceed the repair quote, nor did Rick make any attempt to contact me and inform me the stated repair price would. What rick did was state one price, than fail to meet the stated quoted price. Rick also failed to inform me of any additional charges would be needed for the repairs before performing the additional labor and billing. I did not agree to the additional charges outside of the original stated price. Rick is now not willing to honor his stated repair price, and holding our forklift at his premise with the expectation we pay his full invoice. BUYER BEWARE - AVOID THIS BUSINESS!
