QUEST DIAGNOSTICS = COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF VALUE BASED CARE, ZERO ATTENTION TO PATIENT OUTCOMES OR QUALITY CARE. My doctor ran some labs and billed me for the labs which I paid for and then 8 months later out of no where I got mail from a collections agency saying I owed money to Quest Diagnostics which I had never heard of before. No one called, emailed or contacted me in anyway until 8 months after my doctors appointment when a piece of mail came full of threats from a collections agency.

My pregnant, adult daughter went in for her glucose test. She arrived on time for her appointment and her blood was to be drawn at a very specific time. Regardless, people who checked in after her were being taken back before her. After drawing this to their attention, she was taken back by an obviously frustrated and annoyed phlebotomist named Daniel R. Being a person from whom blood is difficult to draw, as usual, she requested a butterfly. She was told that they were running low on them and he didn't want to use one. Being unable to get blood from the first side, he reluctantly got a butterfly. He was showing very obvious irritation, was rude and shaking. Instead of trying the vein with which there is generally the most success, he decided to use a vein in her hand. Proper procedure with the butterfly was NOT observed and he refused to get assistance. She has bruises on all of the sites that he stuck her. She is bruised from the tourniquet on her wrist. He gave her nothing to squeeze so she has fingernail marks in the palm of her hand. She was nervous and anxious about the appointment to begin with. The treatment she received was more than unacceptable. When she was finally able to leave after this horrible and painful experience, she sat in her car and cried for ten minutes.

To avoid writing a novel, I'll just bullet out a few things that went wrong. But TL;DR: Two strikes, and you're out. I won't be returning to this location, and I'll avoid Quest Diagnostics altogether if I can. 1. In April 2021, my doctor ordered a routine STD screening. Quest Diagnostics charged me and couldn't be bothered to sort it out with my health plan provider (Aetna) or my doctor's office. I had to play middleman between the three. I finally got it resolved by getting Aetna to pay them. Way to disincentivize getting regular checkups. 2. To avoid all this rigamarole this time, 6 days before my appointment, I emailed Quest Diagnostics my doctor's order (which only indicates the diagnosis code, since the provider--Quest--supplies the procedure/CPT code) and the list of CPT codes that Aetna covers as preventative screening. I asked them to confirm that they would perform the correct procedures that would be covered at 100%. I got no response. I called up the main Quest number, and a very nice agent helped me to realize that nobody had my email, least of all the specific location. She advised me to fax it to them. Uh...fax? So I found an online service that will fax a PDF for free. 3. I arrived at my appointment. This is now November 2021. Daniel R was very nice and pleasant throughout. I don't know how much of the following is his fault, versus his working within a completely ineffective and inefficient system. 4. He asked for my order. I told him I faxed it in. He brought over my order from April 2021. Good thing I decided to check. I sent him back to find the one I had _just_ faxed in. 5. We spent 40 minutes finding all the correct procedure (CPT) codes. He couldn't find the code in the system for a blood draw variant of one of the STD tests...even though in April 2021, they performed that procedure and billed exactly that code he looked for. We ended up subbing out the test for a urine test, after I convinced him that that would be fine, even though it's not what my doctor ordered, since I just need some kind of reliable test, and my doctor wouldn't care. (He couldn't reach my doctor by phone.) 6. Finally, the blood draw begin. Despite saying that I've fainted in the past and obviously wanting to recline in the horribly uncomfortable and rigid chair, Daniel asked me to lean forward. That was fine. I complied, thinking it would be okay. I was wrong. 7. Context: I tend to have pretty poppy veins, since I lift weights and have pretty low body fat. The attempt in the vein in my right arm got progressively more painful. I started wincing in pain...a lot. It felt like he kept jamming it in deeper and deeper. That might have just been my perception. But he claimed the flow was very low. That seemed dubious, but it was true that I hadn't had more than about 16 oz of liquid before he started drawing my blood around 12:15. 8. He switched to my left arm, and this time, miraculously (mmhmm), the flow was great, and he collected the remaining 6 vials. My right arm was throbbing in residual pain. 9. After he was done. I kept my eyes closed for a few minutes, and then I started feeling all the signs of a vasovagal response: I started feeling dizzy, nauseous, cold and hot, and I broke out in a cold sweat, with my skin feeling clammy. I knew I would pass out if I didn't lie down, so I laid down on the floor and just breathed through the discomfort. 10. Eventually, it passed, and I gathered up my things and left. But when I removed the cottonball and tape, I found that the nearly invisible pinpricks I expected were actually track marks. 7 hours later, and my right arm still hurts. All the individuals with whom I interacted, while not supremely competent, perhaps, were very nice and pleasant. Daniel was very apologetic about the order snafu at the beginning and kept begging for my patience. And he was apologetic about my discomfort. But this was just horrible. I can't, in good conscience, recommend this location or Quest Diagnostics in general.

We have two little boys with hard to find veins that need blood work done every 3 months. We have gone to many Quest Centers and a few LabCorp locations, but this location is the best we have ever visited. We are so glad we discovered these highly skilled lab technicians. We saw Derek and Shay, who are absolutely outstanding. My boys didnt even flinch when they got poked. They were able to poke them only once and draw all the viles needed. We have never had this experience before. We are so greatful for the outstanding job done. Thank you Derek and Shay. We will be back. We highly recommend this location to anyone who is scared of blood draws or has hard to find veins. You won't be disappointed.

I am very disappointed. We took my 5 month old grandson in to have blood drawn 45 minutes later he was so upset he would not stop bleeding. I had to go in and take him I had seen enough . 1 minute's a after leaving he is still bleeding and is bruising .

This was my first time coming to this location. I made an appointment online for 12pm. I arrived, checked in and waited maybe a minute or two and was called back. Talina and Sam were my phlebotomists today. They were both very friendly, professional and seemed to actually enjoy what they do even though it was slow. They both "tag teamed" to look for veins as mine are hard to find. Sam is a "newer" phlebotomist. However she took her time and didnt poke me unnecessarily. Sam did a fantastic job and Im glad I went to this location. I will go again to this location. Shout out to both Talina and Sam!!

Had blood drawn and it was amazingly fast and painless. My veins are not easy to find, and I’ve been stabbed multiple times during prior blood draws. The staff (wish I saw her name!) did an amazing job of finding a vein and working efficiently and painlessly.

This place is fantastic! I had a woman named Dahlia take my blood on two separate occasions and they both went better than any other needle experience I've ever had. I actually kind of like going to this place, and I hate needles. The first time Dahlia took my blood, it barely felt like she touched me. She deserves a raise. Great job and thanks Dahlia This location of Quest Diognostics is very fast as well. I got in and out today in under 10 min.

The staff is very professional and do the job very well. I get blood work done fairly often. I however will miss Christina very much. She has switched positions within the company and I really will miss her great attitude including remembering my name as well as asking about my dog. She also had the touch when it came to poking the needle in, often I barely felt it. I’m sorry she won’t be working with me anymore.

Walked in and was seen right away by Christina. She was so good! Very nice and smart, made me feel comfortable quickly. I didn’t even feel the poke! She kept my mind engaged in easy conversation, let me guide whether I wanted to breathe or talk (these things make me anxious), and she even explained some interesting technical aspects to me! It was fast and easy with a very competent, nice staff.
