Overall I had a good experience renting from this company. Yes, it took a bit longer to get to their rental center from the airport, but they had the best rates. The employees were all knowledgeable and trying their best to keep things moving. I did have a problem with a fuel change when I returned the vehicle (make sure you check the accuracy of the fuel gauge when you pick up and drop off your car) but one of the managers looked into it and reversed the charge. I would use them again.

When I returned the vehicle the lady said I had to fill it up. I told her I did and she stated that it’s not all the way full and they charge a lot to refill the tank. I took it to the gas station down the road and it took 2.87. Then they say I have a balance. How do you have a balance when you pay for the car before you leave with it. Had over 200. In different kinds of fees. The people I talked to over the phone was rude and unprofessional.

I wish I could give zero stars. Called to see if I could cancel my pre-paid reservation and was told by the Routes associate that it would not be a problem and I’d be refunded. Then, no refund and was pretty much told tough luck you should’ve read our rental agreement no refunds. AND was asked to provide a recording of my call with CS proving that a refund was promised. This is a joke, and a great example of poor business management. Pay the extra $ to work with a reputable rental company.

STRICT RULES!!!! Read first and leave 👍🏻to this review so it pop up on top and people know it. Ok, keep going. Rules are: 1. Cars for other state than IL travelers ONLY. That means if you have Illinois Driver license there’s no way you get a car for rent. Don’t waist your time. Next rule 2. Cars are being provided for travelers or visitors ONLY. That means you have to prove your departure intentions. That meant you have to show them you return ticket from ORD!!! No other airport departure tickets are accepted! I wish they post that rules on the searching platforms to let people know if they are qualified to get a car Why am I writing this review? Because this is kinda unique rental company who shares Jeep Wrangler vehicles for that attractive price. You’ll see pictures below. Of course they have other types of cars. Also, the rate ⭐️2.9 (on 04.12.2022) is not accurate because a lot of people get upset of rejection being not qualified because of company rules. The company and the service their cars are good. Enjoy your time riding this amazing cars

The counter people were great, the car was great. Everything involved with getting the car and returning the car went very quickly. My only complaint is that there were no signs for this particular company at the car rental center and had to make several calls to find them. I was told to go inside the center all the way down to the sign for South F, which has you go outside and then back to the entrance to catch their bus. I'm not sure if they realize this has you go in one big circle and is totally unnecessary.

I travel often and rent cars all over the US and the world and this was a top two worst experience. The office is about 10 minutes outside the airport and I waited just over 45 minutes for the shuttle bus. A few of us called at different points to inquire about the shuttle's arrival and were told "A few minutes." When it arrived, we were packed into a minivan without any remorse from the driver. At the rental counter, I was asked for proof that I had a return flight, which I had not yet booked. Then I was asked for a utility bill or lease outside the state. I’m a digital nomad and currently have none of these things, so I was refused service. Having a wedding to go to in Wisconsin, I offered to book my return flight on the spot and was still refused service (they said it had to be booked at least 24 hours ago). I offered a paystub with my former out-of-state address and was told this would not work. Finally, I provided a medical bill from several months prior with my former address and the manager begrudgingly told me this would work but made it clear she was accommodating me against company policy! I read the rental policy sent via email and it did not mention needing a return flight or utility bill or lease - quite an unusual policy. I never raised my voice but did express frustration about both the long weight and the unfair rental policy. The manager, Mallory, was completely unapologetic and would not acknowledge any inconvenience or wrongdoing on the part of Routes. When I made a snarky comment to another customer about the shuttle taking longer than 10 minutes to arrive, Mallory threatened to cancel my rental agreement. She insisted the shuttle bus passes every 10 minutes and would not acknowledge that this was not customers' experience that day. An apology could have gone a long way. There was no customer service but rather an attitude that the customer is lucky to have service. The ordeal was stressful, unpleasant and delayed my arrival at a friend's pre-wedding event. I felt penalized for my choice to be a digital nomad. I will never EVER return to routes again and suggest you AVOID this company even if it means paying a little more for a vehicle from the terminal.

I wasn't given a car here, although I had a reservation. Due to the fact that I didn't have a plane ticket in my hands. The operators are not polite enough. I strongly do not recommend this company. You may have problems here and a spoiled mood and your plans.Sheet

As I start this review I know I’m not going to be able to fully articulate how impressed I was with Routes Car Rental. Every trip to Chicago we continue to be impressed by courteous people and this time it was Cornelius with Routes and right as we got off the plane to start the trip right. Our return was no less impressive with Vicky getting us checked in. It seems like we only spent a couple minutes at the counter each time and everything was prompt and efficient with pleasant conversation. Finally Danny made our trip back to airport pleasant as well. Excellent service overall, Routes is hiring the right people.

I used spot hero,parking for my personal vehicle while i was away,planned ahead. Easy process and great customer service. Pull up, fill out a small form, give key and shuttle van took us to the airport. Came back follow the instructions on the card, shuttle picked us up back to the rental place. Return was the must easy process hands down give ticket number and she give me my keys. I truly the fast and efficient service will use them again for my next trip.

Made reservations a couple days in advance from Washington state. Arrived O'Hare, and Routes, very friendly staff on check in and check out. I highly recommend Routes Car Rental. God bless you team. You are the best.
