Discount Den in West Lafayette (618 W Stadium Ave, IN 47906)
About:
The Den is an iconic landmark within the Purdue University community that has been serving students and Purdue alumni since 1982. Located within easy walking distance from campus, it has something for everyone: university logoed clothing, snacks, soft drinks, cards, novelty gifts, school supplies and more. The most notable item, of course, is the famous “Den Pop” which has become an integral part of the Purdue experience among Boilermakers, both on campus and around the globe. History, according to us: Prior to the Den's conception in 1982 nothing all that notable really happened...aside from Purdue's founding in 1869 (ayy) and Neil planting our banner on the Moon (your move IU).

I've been a fan of your store for a long time. I graduated Purdue in 1983, one year after your store opened. I have made the occasional visit back to West Lafayette since, and I was glad when I discovered that you were selling quality, decently priced, shirts and apparel. I've bought quite a few over the years. Picture is attached. This is what I just have currently. Not the ones that have died a natural death after having been worn so much, or the ones I've bought as gifts for others. I've done a LOT of business with your establishment. I was in town again last August (a year ago). I bought two more shirts. One was perfect. One fell apart immediately. At the time I lived in Tucson so I couldn't exactly return it. I hung on to it with the idea that at some point I'd be back in your vicinity. I was back in town on Saturday, June 11th. I brought the shirt along and explained the circumstances. The young lady at the register was very nice, but she wasn't a manager and wasn't in a position to help me out. She took my cell phone number and promised a manager would get back to me. I've not heard a word since. I'm very disappointed in Discount Den. I've done a lot of business with you, and I was planning to continue doing business with you. I understand my circumstances were unusual (I don't even have a receipt, you only have my word), but to not even receive any communication from anyone at your establishment, this is beyond disappointing.

Great little convenience store, offering cheap fountain sodas, snacks, candy, bottled beverages and even fresh donuts. They have gag gift type items, and Purdue merchandise that is much cheaper than what can be found in Follett's and University Bookstores.

Discount Den has been there for ages......I attended Purdue in early 90's, and frequented this store often for its cheap drinks and cool stuff. After many years, it looks pretty neat and cooler now. Anyway, thanks for the great memories!

They sell a bunch of merchandise, drinks and other knick knacks here. They also have donuts in the back.. which is why we dropped by. Grabbed a blueberry donut to go, and despite eating it a few hours later, it still tasted fresh and soft. Haven't tried any of their other donuts and by the time we got there (it was just after lunch time), there wasn't a lot left. I'd say it was a good donut, but I'm not a huge fan... yet? Will go back to try more though :)

Do not order from The Den. I was excited they were offering a 15% off coupon for Christmas. It's been a long time since my husband and I bought new Purdue merch, so we thought we'd order several items before the upcoming bowl game. Unfortunately a Christmas porch pirate stole the package from our front door before we came home to retrieve it. I have wasted the last day and a half going to the post office, talking to my leasing office, and flagging down my mailman to try and gather information. When I called The Den to explain this all to them, the owner said they couldn't help me because the package was technically "delivered". The manager even agreed with me on the phone that a porch pirate must've taken it, but they ultimately refused to re-ship the items. I've had a stolen package issue once before with a different company, and in that instance, the company re-shipped the product. I understand that The Den is a small business, but I'm shocked they refused to do anything to help. Now I have to file a claim with USPS about my stolen package to try and get some of my money back. We spent $100 total on that merchandise. I will never shop at The Den again, and I don't recommend that you purchase anything online from them because they will not help you.

Get yourself a den pop if you go to Purdue. They are really cheap and the creative combinations made by fellow students make it a unique experience everyone at Purdue needs to do at least once. There’s also a lot of cool things here from Purdue gear to oddball gifts.

They got all kinds of stuff that you would only find at a independent campus convenience store like a collection of discs for disc golf, for example. The Den Pop deal is definitely designed to get you in the door.

If you're looking for a local shop filled with useless trinkets, overpriced candy, rude employees, and an obnoxious odor that will follow you around for 72 hours, look no further. The "Den Pop" craze is nothing more than drink mixes taped to the back wall, and although they are cheap, the rest of the merchandise is far overpriced. The employees fail to respond to greetings and merely stare at you until you pay them. In this single instance, I would prefer a self-checkout over an employee interaction. Do yourself a favor and avoid the Discount Den at all costs. Remember, your dollar is a vote.
