They need someone that has at least seen exotics. They saw my bearded dragon but they had no clue what to do for him. I will say at least they put him in oxygen and gave him fluids, which bought him time till we got to his Vet the next morning. I was a little put out when my near death looking dragon was brought to me with care taker showing no emotion, compassion for me or my pet. A little good luck would have gone a long way. A couple days later they did a follow up call asking about Vinny, I was thankful of that.

Our sweet cat tigger, suddenly passed away. Our regular vet was closed so we weren’t sure what to do. We called our vet and she recommended bluegrass vet specialists. My husband took him in to be cremated. And a week later they sent us the most thoughtful card and prints in his passing. We are not typical clients there. And they did not know us or our cat but the fact they took the time to send such a thoughtful card and prints of his paws has really helped me with his passing. Thank you so much for the card and print. It truly means the world to us. I don’t know about their other services but their after life services are top notch. Makes me happy that we left Tigger in their care.

If I could leave zero I would. My dog had black gelatinous diarrhea which is typically an indicator for a GI bleed. I took him here because it was my only option on the fourth of July. The place is under construction and they will not allow anyone inside. Fine, we all did this during covid right? After an hour and a half I get a call saying he wasn't running a fever and seemed fine. I asked if they ran tests... "No, but he seems happy" not the expert diagnosis I was expecting. I told them I needed them to run an ACTUAL medical test. They said they would run blood work. Two hours later... "We ran blood work and there were some abnormalities but we still think it's fine and that it's probably just our equipment malfunctioning" I have always hated E-vets. They take advantage of being the only option for scared fur parents and over charging but this was a new low. If you can wait for a real vet, I highly suggest doing so.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Dr Roan “treated” our pet during emergency hours. We waited for almost 5 hours without being allowed in the building and with very limited communication. After we finally requested the return of our pet, Dr Roan brought her out, gave very little information on her findings and felt it necessary to place a guilt trip on us by indicating that there were several pets in critical condition and that families were crying on the sidewalk. We were fully aware of that situation and didn’t need it pointed out to us. Simply stated, better communication and compassion for our pet, who was also in emergency care, would have made all the difference.

Called from out of state (Alaska) because there’s nowhere here that’s open. My puppy just had his leg amputated on the 26th and has a few bumps on his stitches that worried me and fell and landed on them pretty hard. The receptionist was so friendly and so helpful, she didn’t seem to mind that I was calling and not from there. She answered my questions and also let me know about some after care that my primary vet didn’t tell me about (Monitor and limit his activities). Highly professional and so kind.

While I am so thankful that they are open through the night for emergencies I feel like we were forgotten. You are not allowed in so for five hours we sat out in the vehicle waiting to see if our Pippi was going to be okay. They did not call to update us, we had to call them after over four hours of hearing nothing. Over $760 later basically it turned out to be indigestion 🙄.

When my fur baby unexpectedly hurt herself we took her here over the weekend. They got her in quick and looked over her quickly, and even gave us some medication for free! They even called us a few days later to check up on her! You know they care. The prices are also very reasonable for a 24 hour emergency animal clinic.

I have nothing but fantastic things to say about this facility!! While traveling, I left my dog’s cardiac meds at home, 8hrs away. They got my pup in, did a full exam, and were able to provide me with enough heart meds to get my little fella through our trip and home. They were kind, gentle with my boy, and very professional. I can’t thank them enough! I recommend them to anyone!!

My experience here was absolutely amazing! The doctors and staff are all incredibly kind. They took the time to explain everything that was going on to me and answer all my questions, even when they were busy. I'm from out of town, and they took such good care of my dog, Winry, after a heat stroke event until she was stable enough to transfer to a hospital in my home town. They saved her life. She's home and back to herself now. Thank you Bluegrass Veterinary!!!

When my dog was diagnosed with lymphoma I was referred to this vet. My first ( and only ) visit was with Dr. R. I felt relieved when I left the office with two prescriptions and promises from Dr. R that he would help advise me along the way. After two weeks of giving my dog the prescribed medication his tumors were growing rather than shrinking. I called the vet’s office on a Monday and was told the doctor would be in at noon and I should expect a call by 4:00 that day. After starring at my phone all day praying for it to ring it was obvious no one cared enough to call me back. The next morning the vet’s assistant did call. I told her my concerns and she said she would review with the doctor and get back to me. No call Tuesday. On Wednesday I called again and the person who answered pulled my dogs chart and said she could see the doctor had read the notes about my concerns. She assured me someone would get back to me. The following day my dog began to throw up so I called again. No way to get to the doctor for advise. I was told the doctor didn’t work on Fridays. By Sunday my dog was breathing so hard I called the office again. If I wanted I could bring my dog in through their emergency room and see if the vet on duty could get Dr. R’s attention. Didn’t sound like a good plan to me. On Monday I felt what was best for my dog who was laboring to breath, not eating and coughing up saliva and bile was to say goodbye to him. This was two weeks ago. To date, Dr. R still has not called to check on my dog and no one from his office has bothered to follow up with me. This was a horrible experience for me. Absolutely heartbreaking. I WOULD NOT recommend anyone to use the services (and I use that term loosely) of the vet office.
