Best auto repair shop in Safety Harbor, Florida (FL) 2024

I gave a one star because there was no option for a zero star. I left my Lexus SUV with the owner of this place four months ago to get some simple work done. After four months, three visits and a handful of promises, the main work, a seat weld, replacement of a radio mast motor, seat motor was still not done. All so got was a promise each month that the work would get done by the end of the month. I finally had to take the vehicle to another shop. When you ask the owner to get it done, all he does is talk and talk. It’s always some excuse that could have been rectified by a simple parts order and installation. After I figured into this equation my lost time from work and the insurance I paid on a vehicle that I could not use (He had taken the seat out but didn’t do the cuts and welds as promised not had he ordered a new seat motor.) it would have been far cheaper and better if I had taken my SUV to my regular mechanic in Tampa or even the Lexus dealership. Thank God, the vehicle is paid off or I would have been out of that money too. How can anyone run a business this way? I certainly cannot. I would not recommend this place to anyone and would actually recommend against it. ~Mike

I would always like walking by Unique Engineering and Repair to see the classic cars that they were working on. Because of this, and the convenient location, I assumed that it would be an expensive place for basic repairs. This is not the case at all! I’ve taken my car there three times now and have been beyond satisfied with the work and price each time. At this shop I’ve had a minor repair done, an oil change and what I would consider an intermediate issue diagnosed. The owners are incredibly friendly, fair and honest. They didn’t even charge me for the diagnosis they performed in that they told me it didn’t take them long to get to the bottom of it. This was quite unexpected. If you stop by and no one is at the front desk, just walk in as it seems the two owners are the primary mechanics, which is I’m sure how they keep their prices down. ~King

After reading many reviews and being referred to Handley, I was so glad I took my vehicle there. I had just dropped my comp and collision on my almost 13 year old vehicle, when a very large palm tree in our yard came fully out of the ground and smashed the back window and did damage to the rear of my SUV. They glass folks were not able to replace as there would not be a seal. When I called they seemed to be quite backed up for several weeks, but since I could not drive it anyway I took it in. Bill called a few days later and gave me a few options. Then called only a week later that it was completed! I feel that this family owned business is very fair and honest, which is sometimes hard to find these days. I would not hesitate to use them again. Services: Painting, Body & Trim ~Debra
