Best car rental agency in Cambridge, Massachusetts (MA) 2024

Very unresponsive and rude. I rented a car with Budget, picked it up at 1 bennette st location but had to get the car towed because of a small accident. It's been 36 hours since it's been towed and I was not given any update since then. I called them multiple times and the only answer they give me is that they can't give me any information (they themselves don't have any information). A couple of times when I called some representatives said they'll transfer the call to a person who can give me more info and they hung up on me. The towing services was very quick with their work. They returned the car to the location that the rental company asked them to (Budget rental services asked the towing company to return the car to a different location than what I chose as return location while booking). I was told by the towing services that the car was returned to Avis servicing center (apparently Avis and Budget are owned by the same entity). When I called Budget customer service a few minutes back they said they don't know which location the car is (HOW CAN THEY NOT IF IT'S ONE OF THEIR OWN SERVICING CENTERS???) and he also doesn't know when the car will be fixed and returned to the original location. But he had the audacity to tell me that they'll charge me until the car is returned to the return location I chose. Firstly they don't communicate among themselves, they don't give any useful information to the customer and they also charge the customer for their delays. As it is takes me forever to get through the automated service and get a hold of a person every single time I call, and when I do manage to get a hold of a person this is what happens? This is a very frustrating experience and I don't think I'll ever rent a car with them again. ~Lavanya
