Service is bad they make a hassle over anything instead of looking to rent you cars what’s the point of business?

Very unresponsive and rude. I rented a car with Budget, picked it up at 1 bennette st location but had to get the car towed because of a small accident. It's been 36 hours since it's been towed and I was not given any update since then. I called them multiple times and the only answer they give me is that they can't give me any information (they themselves don't have any information). A couple of times when I called some representatives said they'll transfer the call to a person who can give me more info and they hung up on me. The towing services was very quick with their work. They returned the car to the location that the rental company asked them to (Budget rental services asked the towing company to return the car to a different location than what I chose as return location while booking). I was told by the towing services that the car was returned to Avis servicing center (apparently Avis and Budget are owned by the same entity). When I called Budget customer service a few minutes back they said they don't know which location the car is (HOW CAN THEY NOT IF IT'S ONE OF THEIR OWN SERVICING CENTERS???) and he also doesn't know when the car will be fixed and returned to the original location. But he had the audacity to tell me that they'll charge me until the car is returned to the return location I chose. Firstly they don't communicate among themselves, they don't give any useful information to the customer and they also charge the customer for their delays. As it is takes me forever to get through the automated service and get a hold of a person every single time I call, and when I do manage to get a hold of a person this is what happens? This is a very frustrating experience and I don't think I'll ever rent a car with them again.

DO NOT USE! Their reps told us the location was closed at 4pm even though we had a 4:30 drop off When we went the next day to try and figure it out, we found out they were actually open even though it says otherwise (and we were told) , meanwhile the woman at the desk was extremely rude and refused to accept any blame Manager said “it’s not their problem” Insane

Yesterday (12/15/21) at 9:00am, my daughter in law stopped by to pick up a car I'd made a reservation for. As she did not have a credit card in her name, she could not take the car. Budget would not accept a debit card (in her name). The lady at the front desk was extremely rude, and made it clear she did not want to answer any questions. Definitely, she needs more training or to find another job where she doesn't have to interact with people. I'd give this place no star, if it were an option.

First I would like to thank Terry ( I hope I spelled Correctly) at 1 Bennett Street Cambridge MA. She was amazing, when I made a reservation online without realizing I picked a wrong date, and she fixed this problem on the spot, she went beyond and above and found me a car and turned my day around. Also picking the car and returning was so effortless and quick. Thank you

I have no idea what everyone else is on about. It was generally easy to find, and the front desk lady was amazing. It’s hard to get ahold of via phone, but there are other ways to contact. Also, you can call the Avis number, too. It’s the same desk. But man, I got some great prices here!

Pretty bad service. If you plan to rent/drop off the car at this location, be aware of the quality of the service you may get. Staffs left work even when they saw our car coming in before 6pm. No one answered our calls during the working hours. Very disappointing & irresponsible!

Pretty good and quick service. If you are trying to reach team via phone I'd recommend calling the Avis number for the same location. The budget number does not work. It reaches the same person at the desk. Hope this helps.

I’ve never had a parole officer, but every encounter I’ve had with Budget makes me feel like I’m there because I *have* to be, not because I want to be. I stopped using them for ten years, but I’ve used them twice in the last two months because they had the vehicles I wanted where I wanted at the best price. But customer service is so awful at all three sites I’ve used that I’ll pay more to rent elsewhere. The review that follows is specific to the Bennett St location in Harvard Sq. The office is in the bowels of The Charles Hotel, which is a fine location, but Budget’s office is well-hidden and there’s no signage entering through the lobby. Returning through the garage is not much better, as the office is nowhere close to it. If you can’t make your office visible from the garage entrance, at least provide signs and water! The agent (and it’s always only one) doesn’t answer the phone. I tried four times over a three hour period. Useless. When I did get there to pick up an SUV I was taking to Brooklyn, she didn’t want to let it go, saying it was too nice of a car to be sent one way and she tried to down sell me. Then she told me I shouldn’t have pre-paid for insurance, which was probably right, but it was just part of her need to be in control. PAROLE OFFICER One star for service, but I’m giving it three because I was happy with both cars I got there and the prices and locations of the agency were the best available.

I prepaid for an SUV. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, the woman working at the desk was on her cell phone taking an obviously personal call. She didn't respond to us when we asked for help, but the other customers told us that the location had run out of cars and were waiting for new ones to be dropped off. We waited for 30 minutes while the woman complained about her shift to her friend. And when they got vehicles and started renting cars, they said they'd held on to the prepaid SUV the whole time... so, actually, if we'd been addressed politely or professionally from the start we would have been fine. Because of our late start, we hit worse traffic, and with these combined we had no chance to check in to our hotel. We rented the car to get to a wedding, but I had to change into my suit in a gas station bathroom. I'm extremely unimpressed with the service and professionalism. I understand that sometimes demand exceeds inventory, but to be ignored like that is simply unacceptable, and the whole experience was far worse than it should have been. There are plenty of rental options, and I don't need to be treated this way to get a car on the weekends.
