Truly disgusted with this company. Please do not rent a car from this place. It is not worth it at all. You're better off going with any other car rental company. When I dropped off the car, we were told to park, turn the car off, and leave the keys in the car, then we could leave. I even asked the lady parked next to us to confirm if what we heard was right and she said she was told the same. So I thought it was standard procedure there. THEY CHARGED ME 250 FOR LEAVING THE KEYS IN THE CAR!!!!! And then they charged me claiming I returned it the next day! I'm furious. I was charged 581 for one single day. I'm still waiting for a refund. Dollar owes me money!! They know what theyre doing and its wrong. STAY AWAY!!

So 3 stars is kinda generous, because when we stood in line for 2+ hours to get the car initially I was ready to call it off. But I had pre-paid, and wasn’t in a time-crunch, so waited it out. Ended up getting upgraded to a nice SUV when I had only paid for an economy car. It was cheaper than the other spots at Logan. Booked 3rd party and was less than $200 for 3 days. They did charge me a little more at the counter, but $200 of that was a deposit, and the remaining ~$44 of was for the toll plate pass. Returning the car was a breeze. So all-in-all, if you need to save cash and don’t mind losing up to 2+ hours of your life in line, maybe go here. I should note, Dollar’s counter was closed, so you had to wait in the Thrifty/Dollar line, likely contributing to the wait-time.

If you like fraudulent charges added to your bill, this is the place for you! They charged us an insane amount for tolls incurred hours after we returned the car back at the airport. We've contacted them trying to have the charges reversed, even providing receipts and train tickets that prove we were not driving the car at the time the tolls were incurred, but they will not budge. Never using them (or any other Hertz brand) again.

Only rent from them if you have 3 hours to kill after your flight. Want to ultimately pay more than from Hertz in surprise charges, and want SUPER RUDE screaming attendants at drop off. I thought I would save a few bucks on a family trip over my Hertz Gold. Will NEVER make that mistake again.

Terrible experience. This is a scam! My boyfriend and I rented a car for 600$ online which tuned into 800$ at the front desk. When we arrived to the parking to get our car we had to wait for an hour since the company only had only one operator running the facility for all customers. There were lots of families with small children that were waiting with us in the heat of the car park with all the car fumes. Definitely, do not rent from this company.

I booked my rental car on Priceline a month or two before my arrival. I didn't read the reviews, my fault, so there were little to low expectations. The day before arrival I read the reviews and became hesitant. I called to confirm my reservation. The woman on the phone confirmed and we were ready to pickup our car. The time came when we finally were at the Dollar Rent A Car pickup. This is at 9:15AM on a Wednesday. I waited in line for an hour. Note there were maybe 6 people in front of me, and when I reached the counter there were even more people waiting in line. The gentleman who helped us with our car was jolly, polite, and very helpful. However, the additional fees along with the payment of the rental car that I thought I already paid for was additional $430. So in the end my car was $900 for 5 days. Was definitely not happy about the additional cost as all parties live on a budget and the extra charge took most of our spending money for the week. We were furious, but what could we do? Rental cars are a joke, but the employees for Dollar Rent A Car were kind.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The worst rental car company and location I've ever had the displeasure of renting from. The only company with an hour long wait in line to rent the car (all the other companies had short lines). In an effort to speed through the line, the customer service agent did not bother to ask a lot of the questions for the optional services and simply tagged them on. I am now out hundreds of dollars for optional services I was never asked about and there is NO way to reach the local service counter. Dollar rent a car says you have to talk to them. They don't actually have a phone number, and the Hertz number sends you around in automated circles.

If only zero stars were available. The staff at Logan airport are helpless and rude which nicely compliments Dollar’s useless customer service. After dollar allowed me to make a same day online reservation, I called customer service upon arriving at BOS to confirm availability at my reserved location. The customer service representative confirmed not only that a vehicle was available, but the specific vehicle I reserved was available as well. I then battled the shuttle crowds to arrive at the (remote) rental counter to be told they can’t give me a car— not that they don’t have a car for my reservation— but that they couldn’t give me a car because I did same day reservation and it might take a vehicle away from someone else. They told me to come back in 2 hours and then they might be able to give me a car. When addressing the indefinite mess of their proposal, both the counter rep and her manager Mr. Hertz were extremely impatient. Not for a moment understanding that waiting 2 hours would eliminate potential other transportation options— for example the bus that we nearly missed because we left the terminal for the rental counter after receiving customer service’s resounding confirmation. Further when I told the counter rep that I had spoken to Dollar’s customer service only 20 minutes prior she took a demeaning tone questioning me “where did you call? Did you call here? No, you didn’t call here. Customer service isn’t here”. For reference, when you google Dollar car rental logan/east Boston, MA, the only phone number provided is the 800 customer service number. I wish Dollar representatives would understand that those making same day reservations are only doing so because some other portion of their planned travel arrangements fell through— such as a cancelled flight and being rebooked to the closest airport 150 miles away. I also wish Dollar could get their operation in order and stop allowing same day reservations if they can’t accommodate them. It’s either greedy practice or outdated infrastructure. Either way It only makes for difficult and contentious situations for their customers and employees. Simply put, Dollar Rental do better. A little empathy for your customers goes a long way and better management from the top would go even further.

I had booked a car and contacted the counter twice to make sure I could get it with my debit card. T W I C E they told me I could get the car with my debit card (as I have in multiple other places before). When I got there they wouldn’t give me the car, saying they could only give it to me if I could provide flight details; I live in Boston and was picking up a friend, I had rented the car in my name but hadn’t flown in, so no car for me. Of course they never told me this was their policy the two times I had called to make sure I could get my car. Of course, they wouldn’t switch the name on my reservation, so that my friend could get the car. Then, my reservation was cancelled but a $55 fee was held. I am furious with these people.

My rental record# 384936274. My rental is Feb 7-Feb 8, pick up and return Boston Logan airport. On Feb 8 11;30am we called dollar customer service about inquiry to return the car in Boston Airport Terminal of airport rental car building since my flight depart on 12:30pm to Naples, FL. The customer service replied, "as long as in the Logan airport should be fine and they will help us to return the car". After I parked the car in Logan airport Terminal I called customer service line again and told them where I parked the car and where is the key is. But till now the renting is not close and my bank account authorization 1000 dollars already, I called customer service line every single day to requested close my rental and provide all the detail including where I parked the car and put the key is. They replied to the rental will be close in 48hrs and release my authorization as well, and there is not any charge arises. But till now my rental is still open. I even called the Hertz customer service, they sent request as well, no updating news. I tried to call Boston car rental line, no one picked up the phone all the time. I sent a complained email on this Wednesday either and no replied. My bank account does not have money to authorization anymore, how can I do next?
