I had a terrible experience at this branch. I live in Hopkins and I would always go there to get a roll of quarters for laundry purposes. There is no coin machine in my apartment building so I have to go to the bank to get quarters.
I have always gone there. I NEVER had a problem getting quarters from any teller at any time. However today when I went for my usual trip, I was rebuffed by a teller who stated "I had to be a customer to get quarters"
I have lived in Hopkins for 2 years and have NEVER been told this in any previous times I went there. I believe the teller's name was "Jaime" or something similar.
I explained that I have done this numerous times before with no problem. The teller then stated again you have to be a customer. NOWHERE in the bank does it state you have to be customer to do a simple exchange of cash for a roll of quarters.
The teller was rude and did not handle the situation well. Another teller came over and was equally rude. I asked for a manager and that was not honored. The attitude of both tellers was not customer friendly at all.
I was upset because I have done this exchange at this branch numerous times before.
The rudeness made me feel like there could have been some racial animosity. I am African American. I have never felt that way before and do not make that accusation lightly. I will NEVER visit this branch again.
