I highly recommend this Avis location! I rented a fantastic (almost new) car for a few days and found Bryan to be incredibly helpful. I accidentally left my laptop hidden in the back, and he facilitated a quick return even though the car was checked out for the next week (thank you to that driver as well). A+ service, will be renting through this location in the future. Thanks again Bryan!

For a long time, I have been renting cars at Hopkin, MN location. On August 23, 2021, around 8 am, my dad dropped me off in front of the rental office to pick up a van. He was about to drive off, out of no where this stranger yelled from a distance away "Don't park behind that lady" repeatedly. I found out later that he was with Avis. It would be nice if he at least introduce himself and come closer to talk to us like human, instead of yelling 100 feet away.

They accepted our request to pick up our rental reservation at 12 PM on a Sunday WITHOUT DISCLOSING that they close at 12 PM on Sundays. Needless to say, we never got that car and we're supremely disappointed with their poor communication and service.

Inconvenient and very weird. I booked a car for a business road trip per company policy. Go to pick up the car, all well and good, get the car, nice enough newer Jetta, here is where things go south. I ask where i can leave my car for the few days during the business trip and they tell me there is no customer parking in the lot, and leaving my car in the lot will result in my car getting towed. Tell me I can either leave it parked on residential street elsewhere and hope it doesn't get broken into or towed, or leave it there and it will for sure get towed. So I drive my car back home, get picked up by an uber and dropped off again at Avis. Huge waste of my time and this makes absolutely no sense. And i'll have to do the same thing now when i drop the car off!! Never ever seen this stunt pulled before, either they are making $ off the tow trucks as well or they're all moonlighting as uber drivers, or they only are there for the car repair shops in which case it should be clear from the onset that there is no where to leave a car unless you are getting it repaired. If this weren't for work i would have run for the hills already. Not a good first Avis experience, i am thinking this is only the beginning too and i am having a very bad feeling about all this.

We picked up a Dodge Durango in Hopkins MN last night (7/12/2021) for a 1000 mile trip. We decided to go with a larger suv for comfort. This is the furthest thing from comfort. It has 52,000 miles on it and the shocks are gone. We can feel every bump on the highway. It’s dirty and smelly. We paid $850 for this piece of junk. I’m so disappointed and frustrated. We have rented probably close to 100 cars over the years. This is the worst experience of them all and will be my last rental from Avis. Don’t rent from Avis Hopkins unless you want a poor quality and well used vehicle.

Didn’t have the car I ordered but got an I insanely appreciated upgrade for my cross country trip! Car was a little dirty inside (broken chips on the middle arm rest in back seat) but it was well worth it! Simple process, in-and-out of the facility in less than 5 minutes for pick-up and return!

Not happy with customer service. We took full insurance for a day (collision, liability, personal accident and road assistance) for an intermediate SUV.. We asked for an estimate and the guy at the counter said that it would be $47. He also bragged about adding roadside assistance for free! In the final bill, the insurance came to be $64 excluding taxes. I wish they were more transparent upfront about price of the insurance.

Super helpful owner and employee, Brian and Matt - helped us get the right size passenger van that fit all the luggage (originally, a smaller van was sent from MSP.) Our rental term was extended to compensate for the delayed vehicle pickup. Easy to work with, recommended!

Look out for extra fees! We rented a van and let Avis know we'd have our dogs. They said no problem. We've done this many times before at this same location. The last time they charged a $250 cleaning fee. We immediately called and asked for proof/photos of the claimed mess. They had none. Very disappointing.
