5 Best convenience store in North Charleston, South Carolina (SC) 2024

Very friendly and helpful staff. You can buy quarters, get cash back off of a debit card for a three dollar charge (which is less than the atm fee). They even let people charge cell phones by the coffee pot or behind the counter (if you need to leave and come back while it's charging). This neighborhood can be a little rough sometimes, but the staff at Carolina A Mart are truly wonderful neighbors. If you come here regularly, they will stock certain products for you on request. ~Natalie

Generally speaking, the service is very slow at this store as i have been here multiple times, however, the last straw for me was the manager's attitude at the Fedex counter when I went there today to drop off a box. It is a Sunday (around 1:30 PM, Oct 2, 2022) and the, poorly trained, manager on duty rudely tells me she can't accept my box because there's no more room left; when, clearly, there was room available for more than just my box. When I pointed out the available space on the shelf, her tone became argumentative and she started ranting defensively. I picked up my box, walked out of the store, and went across the street to UPS, and took care of my business there. She may have been unhappy about her employer or life in general, but, how she acted towards me took away regular business from Walgreens and Fedex. She killed two birds with one stone. ~Sam

Extremely short staffed. Went there this morning to purchase two items. They had one person working the register at the photo booth. There was a woman holding up the line trying to get photos printed. I decided to get checked out at the pharmacy instead but I was ignored. All the pharmacists were on the phone. There should be at least one pharmacist available to help customers. Its extremely unprofessional for all of them to be on the phone. The manager should have been helping on registers since a line was forming because of the woman backing up the register trying to get photos printed. At the very least add a self checkout. ~Judy
