Frances Marie's Restaurant & Cantina

To be honest, I wasn’t too impressed. I know they had a rough start when they very first opened, but anybody with some intelligence would give them the benefit of the doubt for that. This was my first time going, and they’ve been open for a few years now, and they have great reviews. I had been eyeing the El Hefe plate and got myself excited for it. The drinks were ok. The service was great. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, no issues there whatsoever. We had the stuffed jalapeños with the brisket, and honestly, the brisket ruined it. I bet they would’ve been good with the fajita chicken or steak, but the brisket was dry and the smoke flavoring was way too potent. Either they stubbed their toe on the smoke additive or they legit smoked it, but with dirty smoke. The Diablo chicken appetizer was very tasty. The chicken inside was quite dry, but the rest of the stuff wrapped up with it in the bacon, as well as the ranch, made up for the dryness. The El Hefe platter, although it looked nice, was really lacking. The only sear to the steak was from the actual grates, the rest of the cut had no sear at all. Was a thin steak at only 8oz, so obviously they knew they couldn’t give it a hard sear without cooking it beyond the medium rare that I requested, but the presentation was poor. Presentation is one thing though, but the steak itself lacked flavor. It was quite bland, and nothing to write home about. It tasted like a USDA select cut cooked by a weekend grill warrior from California. It just wasn’t a quality steak, especially for the price point. The cheese enchiladas also needed some help. They were just not very enjoyable. The charro beans were good. The rice was mediocre. Overall, not a bad experience. Again, wait staff was good. The restaurant’s appearance was nice. The food was definitely lacking. My biggest concern was the floors. Not sure what they use to clean the floors, but it was like walking on ice. Your feet woods slide all over the place, and you had to be extra attentive when walking to be sure you didn’t slip and fall. The chairs would freely slide around as if somebody had coated the floor with KY Jelly. Whatever they’re doing, they need to fix it before somebody falls and files a suit. I almost contemplated taking a dive to help pay for Christmas presents this year. ~Brett

First time ever that I had a horrible experience. The fitting rooms are closed. Got it. No problem. Been that way since the start of Covid. I had two suit blazers that I wanted to see how they looked. So, like anyone who shops for jackets (new or used) you would want to try them on. However, I couldn't not find a mirror anywhere! I mean anywhere. I asked one of the associates where I could find a mirror to try in said blazers since the fitting rooms were closed. She whispered you could try the bathrooms. I won't tell. Well, the signs clearly say not to bring merchandise into the bathrooms so I wasn't going to do that. I happen to locate a door mirror in the back that was for sale so I used that. I try on the first one. No problems. I try on the second one and go to take it off and a different associate tells me I can't try the jackets on. I ask her if the dressing rooms are closed and all sales are final then how am I supposed to know if it fits? She shrugged her shoulders at me and says it is the policy. Well obviously common sense does not play a part in this ridiculous policy. I'm not trying on pants. I'm not trying on a shirt. I'm not taking my clothes off. I'm trying on a jacket! Which is what anyone and everyone does when you shop for a jacket! Or shoes! Or a hat! Or gloves! Or freaking clothes! I wouldn't be as upset if I was allowed to bring the jacket back for an exchange or store credit if happens to not fit. Doesn't have to be getting my money back, but I can't even do that. And if that is the company's policy, don't you think as an employee working there, you would want to move the merchandise out as quickly as possible and make the customers happy so they will buy the stuff and get out?! Use common sense people. Just because it is a ridiculous moronic policy that doesn't even make sense, doesn't mean you can't use your own common sense and not enforce it. All you're doing is making it difficult for the customer to decide to buy the item and for you to make the sale. Simple math to me. Worst experience ever! ~Shalayne

Kay Jewelers

Wow is all I can say! Sonia and Margarita were phenomenal. I went in to buy a new wedding band since I had mine lost and resize my engagement ring that is an heirloom. I was super worried sending it off for a couple of weeks but they reassured me it would be handled with care. From beginning to end they were super nice and encouraging whenever I was deciding what ban matched my engagement ring well. I really appreciate all the trouble they went through with finding the right color band I wanted and inspecting my rings, they went above and beyond! Thank you Ladies!!! ❤️ ~Alejandra
