He was able to contact me through seeing a text message with a friends phone number that he took the initiative to call. She then contacted me that he was trying to reach me that he had found my phone on the street. I don't think people would go through the effort to try to find somebody. He even contacted someone that he knew that worked for Apple to get advice on how to do this.
