Best bank in Portsmouth, Virginia (VA) 2024

I don't know if the teller was new or what. She was pleasant, but lacked on communication skills. I gave her a check and my i.d. I waited while she did several things(co-worker, got on the phone etc), but she never asked about how I wanted my cash back. ~Tena

This bank since the merger is a disaster. I used to bank with Suntrust for years and had absolutely no problems. Last night I tried to send money with Zelle to my daughter which I have done numerous times, even with Truist. I received a message that sending the money was under "review" and and an email to contact customer service. The email said there would be assistance 24/7. When I tried to call, after pushing one button and another, I finally got a message to "call back during regular business hours." That is hardly 24/7 customer service! I have had so many problems with this bank since the merger and am looking to switch out in the very near future. Read the reviews of Truist on Reddit and you will see it most often referred to as a "dumpster fire." Numerous complaints on Next Door as well about all their errors with accounts. They advertise themselves as a "different kind of bank." That part is certainly true! Take your accounts elsewhere! ~Elizabeth

If I could I'd give zero stars. The staff at this branch is horrible and insensitive. I had the displeasure of having to close my Mothers accounts with them recently due her death. After speaking with Jamilla who I was shocked to find is titled the senior customer service person, she made me promises she did not keep and failed to follow up with me. I called after She failed to respond to two emails from me and I spoke with Nicole. WOW she was rude also and I asked for the branch manager SHOCKED again Nicole is the manager. That explains why Jamilla was so rude it goes from the top down. My next step is to contact Nicole's leadership. 1. Have customer sensitivity 2. Show some empathy to families 3. Do what you promise 4. Never give a customer that home girl attitude, you are at work. 5. Be professional and use proper grammar ~vera
