It is what followed the unfortunate incident that deserves the 5 star rating! Here is the buzz cut... I placed an order for 60 pieces of 16' specialty pine. with Michael the sales person who has been with the company for many years, To my dismay, the order was not fulfilled as directed by the retail manager. I will normally rate them a one star for this action except the staff and the young man Matt, who is one of the owner's, deserves accolades for their hard work and commitment to the Bywater & Marigny communities. Matt's brother in-law, Mark contacted me directly, as an owners representative, to resolve the issue. The Owners I believe wish to improve the property and to grow the business. Matt who is at the yard daily is an amazing young man who is commendable for his dedication to his father's legend. It takes grit to admit fault and the staff and owners took the matter to heart and are trying to turn the experience into a way to improve customer service at the yard, I placed the order with a competitor of theirs, which is a reminder that we can all improve and do better. I will trust the staff at Wilson Bourg Lumber will work harder for all of us in the community and live up to the five star rating given to them today!

Would have been 5 stars, but the desk lady in the enclosed office took her mask off to sneeze and blow her nose in my face, and then eat a brownie. She then laughed like I was ridiculous for looking nervous. She didn’t look well, and must have been pretty sick because she wasn’t there when I came back to return the sander. So I guess go here if you don’t believe in Coronavirus!

I've been purchasing lumber and other supplies for a small house I'm building. Their framing lumber is #1 grade Southern Pine and a pleasure to use. Free delivery in the neighborhood with a $150 purchase, which really helps me. The people are friendly and helpful. The owner is right there if you have a concern. Their prices are a little higher, but when I factor in the quality, free delivery, and lack of aggravation compared to a big box, it's worth it.

EXCELLENT experience. Tried to buy a 16 foot 2x12 board at Lowe's, but they wouldn't cut it for me. I drive a Honda Civic. Coupe. *smh* Went to Wilson, and they upgraded me to treated wood, as it's for outdoor use, and did ALL my cutting for me. Not just the ONE cut that Lowe's will do for you IF your board is thinner than a 2x___. It cost a little more than I would have paid at Lowe's, but a saw would cost me a LOT more. Possibly LITERALLY an arm or a leg. :-( The convenience, ease, and friendliness of service is WELL worth what you'll pay. Will visit again.
