My wife recently attended one of their Wear and Carry courses, and had an overall excellent experience. In her words: “Just got finished taking their two day course for the Maryland Wear and Carry permit requirement. This was not only a very well put together, and educational, two days of training, but also very enjoyable. Tim brought in experts for the various fields/topics, in addition to his own expertise, and they covered all information in an intelligent and thorough manner. I really enjoyed the experience, and hope to do more training classes with them in the future!” We are both looking forward to visiting their store in the future.

Both the Maryland and West Virginia locations are awesome! They have quite the stock of guns and ammo. The staff are super nice, helpful and always up for a chat or to share valuable knowledge! They treat their customers like friends, always happy to see you.

As always the experience was great at both locations. Friendly and knowledgeable staff seem to know how much to "bug" you as you shop. I just wish I lived a bit closer. But I still drive out there every once in a while.

I have been in many gun stores across the US in 6+ decades, and Hafer’s ranks among the best I’ve seen. The staff is helpful, without being clingy, and very professional. I recently bought a new gun, and Seth and his colleagues helped me select the perfect one for my needs. The selection of available products was great, and paperwork was completed quickly and easily. Whether you are a novice looking for your first gun with lots of questions, or an experienced gun owner looking for an additional tool, you can feel confident at Hafer’s.

I have waited a long time to post a review regarding this establishment. I spent a lot of money with them, entrusted my firearms with them and when things went south, they treated this customer like dirt. The diminutive little troll that owns this establishment, along with most of the staff, are not the type of business owners I want to do business with. I have heard the same from other patrons as well. The owner and staff are arrogant and really have little concern for those who keep their business running. The owner used the most foul language and threatened me due to a situation I had NO control over. Needless to say, I have not darkened his door since. And gladly, they have lost the thousands of dollars I was spending there. I would caution everyone to stay at more than arms length from this business. There are far better establishments to do business with out there, who are more agreeable, accommodating, respectful and trustworthy than this gun shop. Don't be fooled, next time it could be you on the receiving end!!

Hafer's is the place to go for all your gun purchasing needs from the novice to the most experienced. I purchased my first gun when my husband died and my age was 76. I wanted a place that would help me choose a weapon suitable for my inexperience and my stature and teach me how to use it and become comfortable with it. From the very beginning I was made comfortable in my quest and advised perfectly from the purchase to the training. I took two trainings, one for the purchase and an advanced one for a carry permit. All the trainings were professional and thorough and by the time I was allowed was allowed to pick up my weapon I was totally comfortable with it and profitcient. The staff is friendly, helpful and thorough. It's my go to place for what ever I need and all my questions.

I had the Gunsmith enlarge 4 scope mounting holes from 6 to 8. They did a perfect job cutting the larger holes and mounted my rings for a rock solid scope mount. This scope will not move under ANY recoil! Job well done.

Professional and polite bunch. I did some gun modeling for the company a few years back thanks to Danielle. Just found out Art & Sara don’t work here anymore. Nice spot. It’s always jumping with great customers.
