The entire clinic team was coming, concerned about my dog and his health and very considerate of his needs and anxieties. Technician very calm and confident with Dex ( the dog) which helped him relax. Doctor very thorough in examining him and took time to explain time what she was doing, what she was seeing and her questions and conclusions. Very quick follow up about test results. All in all an excellent visit for both of us.

Wow! I've never been yelled at by a vet who denied a prescription for heartworm medication because my dog needs a test in December ("If she tests positive we'll need to treat her"; she probably won't, but if she did then we would suspend the pills, but we're supposed to wait until December with no heartworm meds?) I had also purchased the script they denied with a one-time use coupon for a one-year supply, which she refused to acknowledge or even apologize for. So, they've basically lost a customer and stolen about $70 in coupon savings from me. This is the worst animal clinic I've ever been to. She even wrote us an email trying to explain her case with, again, no acknowledgement or offer to honor the $70 in coupon savings STOLEN from us. It wasn't about anything but your unwillingness to hear a customer's pain (that you caused) and work to address it. That would have gone a long way to making all this better. Awful, unprofessional, and rude. My resistance to cursing in this should be commended. I am enraged. Treat people better.

Wow! Just spoke to the Vet here and I have never been screamed at by a professional like she did and all because the CLINIC cost me $70 in discounts and claimed it was their problem. We have always resented having to go here but now that we have a car will not be. This is the worst practice I have ever visited. Rude front desk staff and rude Vets. The techs are the only bright spot. The time to get an appointment is stupid, god forbid your dog have an acute condition needing prompt attention - they won’t be able to help you.

It's sad to leave a poor review because we read so many positive ones, but every experience is different. We found the front desk staff to be nice enough, but very impersonal. Even after multiple years and visits, still clueless about us and our pets. The main problem with this office is the costs and the way in which the techs and doctors handle themselves. We didn't realize it was so poor and demeaning until we went to a different vet (way out of town unfortunately) and received great care and explanation regarding our dog's issues. I know this place will remain popular as it's the only vet in Takoma park, but I'd recommend getting other opinions before committing to this place.

It was really disappointing and we ended up switching vets. If you just need routine care, I think this place is fine but don't count on them to be there for you when you really need them.

I took my cat for a check-up and shots thinking everything was fine and the doctor found an ear infection, started treatment and told me how to continue clearing it up. She is always very thorough and that makes me confident I am doing my best for my pet.

Website says they do boarding, but when I called to see if they could hold my diabetic cat for a day while I have a medical procedure they told me they couldn't because they don't have someone there who can give him his shot. What! A vet clinic that can't give a diabetic cat a shot? Don't go near this place.

Takoma Park Animal Clinic is a great place with phenomenal customer service, and the veterinarians and dentist are fantastic. They also have parking right upfront which is a bonus in this area. They are my Romeo's permanent caretakers from here on out.
