I have mixed feelings. I’ve been going to this Hot Topic for over 6 years. Over the past couple of months, the employees have been the worst I’ve ever seen. All of my friends have noticed as well, and we’ve been going a lot less bc of it. HOWEVER, I went back very recently and I was VERY pleasantly surprised to see some newer, nice employees😭The couple I’ve been seeing previous just stood there behind the counter doing nothing, and then when I went to check out, they didn’t say anything except what was absolutely necessary, and it was in the rudest way possible. Now that I think about it, it might’ve just been 1 person, but I forgot what she looked like as timed passed. Onto the selection. There’s more anime stuff which I like. However, the kpop merch is severely lacking (ofc it’s only bts and bp -_-). There’s a lot more unique lil things now, which I like as well. Definitely will be going back soon :)

Ordered 2 months ago and still haven’t gotten an email from the store to pick up my order so I called mid June and said they saw my package in the backroom but could not give it to me bc it didn’t show on the system. Called again today and said they don’t have anything in the back room or in the system. Super annoying don’t recommend anyone this store to order online from. People on the phone replied with annoying Starbucks VSCO girl voices even though they work at a goth/emo store. Hot topic maybe train your workers to talk better on the phone because they don’t sound professional.

Nico was so, so helpful! There was some trouble with the gift card I was using and they were friendly and helpful. We had good conversation and I was able to take advantage of great deals and save money. Will only be coming to this one from now on, even though it's 30 minutes away :)

The state of this Hot Topic has gone down the past few years. I never get greeted anymore. The employees seem annoyed when I ask for assistance. People were obviously shoplifting and the employees didn't seem to notice/care. The front table was a mess. Half the shirts on display were unavailable. Most things I picked up were missing tags! I don't recognize anyone that works there before; so I guess the turnover rate must be out of this world. Maybe if you gave your employees a reason to care, they would? Or maybe the staff 4 years ago were just straight up better workers than your current team. I'm never taking my little sister here again, we'll stick with Frederick's location.

Awesome place to get cool, fun, pop culture items. Shopping online is good, but I love being able to see everything in person and also check out their clearance items at the store.
