Not recommended. The "museum" consisted of a 15 minute wait in line, two 15 minute summaries of the events you could find on Wikipedia. This happened in a dark lit auditorium with mannequin scenes light counter clockwise. So if you're not in the middle of the room you need to strain your neck or physically get up to see what is lit up without it being obscured. The narrator was a poor-man's Vincent Price and the mannequins left much to be desired. After a drive through Boston traffic, we had hoped to walk around and read and see different exhibitions on the trials like a proper museum would do. Felt very much like a tourist trap, with the interlude in the gift shop. Save your money and time. Go read or watch The Crucible movie instead, it is far more informative and entertaining. Gave an extra star for the ambiance and enthusiasm of the audience and the nice quaintness of Salem itself. Otherwise it'd be the pits. Avoid.

I found this to be the perfect place to learn about history with my baby who is 5 months old! It was mostly an audio tour. My daughter enjoyed the lights and occasionally looked to me for reassurance that everything was ok. The employees were nice and offered to help carry her stroller at every stairway. I am unsure if I would bring someone fully handicapped there due to the stairs.

Gorgeous outside. Inside is a show but don't expect any robots during the show. Definitely worth seeing still and learning the history of witches. It has a big public gift shop at the end. You need to know that all tickets are released at midnight for the day of the show so WAKE UP AND GET THEM IT SELLS OUT! Visited on Weekday Wait time 10–30 min Reservation recommended Yes … More

Are zero stars possible? Seriously, don't waste your time here. They usher you into a dark room where a 20 minute audio plays, while parts of a very old stationary display light up. After the first part of the "museum", you're ushered into another room, where yet another audio plays. People just kind of aimlessly wander around the room until the audio stops and the employee comes back. There are very few online photos of this place because they have signs everywhere saying photos are not allowed. We've been to museums all over the country. This one wins the prize for the worst, which is saying a lot.

Not recommended. They will not let you take pics or video inside museum for good reason. Not worth it. Barely a museum. More of a learning experience tourist trap. Not at all what was expected. Barely if any actual artifacts from Salem witch trials. Even the museum store barely had anything to do with it. It was all movie related merchandise from Harry Potter or hocus pocus. Didn't try the other museums in Salem so I have nothing to compare it to. One plus was they actually had a bathroom. So that's a bonus. Pretty disappointed overall. Maybe worth $5.00 for what experience they provide.

I've written many reviews good and bad - simply cannot find the words to accuratly describe this experience. Simply put - Save your money - save your time. Simple as that. No pictures allowed not to preserve any antiquities but rather, they don't want them posted here. This is NOT a museum of any kind. And the presentations really will leave you confused. And the second half, oh my.

My family and I expected maybe a little more for such a famous museum but it was still a good experience and history. The presentation is different and definitely not boring (if you have good imagination that is). Bought the tickets online only, it took about 3 to 5 minutes right at the entrance line.

The Salem Witch Museum is a beautiful building. The actual tour is just OK compared to everything else offered in Salem Massachusetts. My teens enjoyed it, but were quickly done and ready to go on to the next thing. When sitting, be prepared to have to do a 360 turn. The round stools look easier than the benches were. When we visited tickets were only able to be purchased online with specific entry times.

First - Sit in the middle of the room on the stools for the best views. That is my visiting tip for you. This was a good spot to begin our day in Salem. My daughter has not yet read The Crucible so this overview filled in many of her knowledge gaps. The display definitely looks as though it hasn't been updated in years. You spend the first part of your time watching a series of dioramas light up (they surround the room) as a narration reads through a timeline of events surrounding the Salem Witch Trials. After that show is over you are moved into a second space. It has a few displays with a timeline on one wall and a few exhibits to look at. I was also slightly disappointed at the lack of time in the second room. It too has narration with dioramas (though these you must move around the room ro view). As soon as the narration is over you are moved out with no time to read anything displayed on the walls. But overall this is where I would suggest anyone visiting Salem start their day.

😁 fun with my granny. It was a great experience. Not what I expected. I thought it was going to be a museum where we read and see things , but it's something u sit and listen to an audio. It's cool but I'm more of a visual person rather then listening.
