- staff friendly. - place is clean and organized. - prices are very good, especially for the area. - everything was fresh that we bought and have tried so far. - a decent selection of different items to shop for. - overall a very good first experience here. I'd recommend this place.

Nice shop with a good mix of historical candies (the blackjacks are particularly good) and more modern chocolates and confections. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Finally got to go here after decades of my parents talking about it and it didn't disappoint! The staff was kind and helpful despite it being busy. I picked up a few chocolate, licorice, salt water taffy and two kinds of the Gibraltars. Everything was delicious. The only downside which they really can't help is the parking was tricky.

Awesome. Awesome place. Check it out. Lots of home made chocolate and a very historical place. Check it out. Only got to try the gibraltors. They were sold out of the blackjacks.

Very nice selection of candy. We bought 4 or 5 different items and everything was delicious and fresh. Worth the stop if you're in the area.

Small candy store across the street from House of Seven Gables. Homemade treats and fudge. Buy them prepackaged or individually. Lots of choices of truffles, too.

This was a fun stop! The oldest candy store in the US! We found several items we've never seen before as well as many favorites. The turtles were featured in O Magazine so we had to try them. They did not disappoint. We also tried the gibralters. I have no idea how to explain them but for $6.95 you can try them yourself. Candy making has come a long way over the centuries but it's fun to see the past.

Awesome chocolate everything! Not super expensive like other homemade shops. My wife will not buy fruit slices anywhere else. Several traditional and unique local items. We try to visit once a year.

Quaint store with varieties of delicious chocolate, candies, fudge and other confections since 1806. Bulk chocolate at $26 per pound. When in Salem, don't miss it!

No signage on the exterior of the building to even know that this was a business. The only sign was one indicating that a mask was required. The windows had a dark tint which I understand is helpful so nothing melts but there are posters set in front windows that obscure the view so you can't see in and identify the business. Upon entering there is a very pleasant aroma and a wide variety of chocolates and funds. A few novelty candies are also there.
