Nice little asian market tucked away in a small strip mall. I was impressed with how much they had in stock. Granted, during the pandemic, there is a lot of merchandise they cannot get now but the shelves were stocked and neat. Service was very friendly, staff was helpful and accommodating. I look forward coming back given I'm over 240 miles away.

The older guy, maybe in his 50s at least, at fish department was terrible. I just asked him do you have live 鲫鱼?He gave me a mean look and yelled at me: don’t you see they are swimming down here? (Of course at the floor level) What a bad experience with him, no customer service manner at all. Shame on the store.

They don’t know how to say hello and thank you for the clients, so rude in there

Very very bad service ! Not once but this is the 3rd time. I bought live fish and requested to clean and cut, he just snorted at me as if he din’t even bother to understand what I said !! He pretended he does not understand english !! Seriously !!! And when I saw, the fish was just cut into 4 pieces, but nothing cleaned, fins were as such, gills were as such, and most of the scales were still there. Never going back to the store.

The main reasons I shop at the Asian stores are to buy fish, unusual varieties or rice, and sometimes unusual grain-like stuff like sorghum. I bought what I think was a black pomfret here a week ago, it might have been the most blatantly delicious fish I have ever eaten. If I see produce or other appealing items at a good price I may buy them too - I once bought a pink dragonfruit here for an excellent price of 2.99 a pound. I have shopped at 168 Asian mart too. 168 has a bigger selection of fish, but the extra varieties cost more than I am willing to pay. Both stores have pomfrets, the other fish varieties vary randomly. The meat and produce selection at Chinatown market are much smaller than 168, but again the extra items at 168 cost more than I am willing to pay. The rice and unusual grain selection here looks adequate and about equal to 168 but some items were higher priced than I remember at 168, unless 168 also raised their prices, i haven't been to 168 for over 3 months, I have bought fish here once a week on average for the last 3 months or more. And I remember waiting 20 or more minutes to check out at 168, while I have never waited more than 2 minutes to check out at Chinatown market. Just bring cash here because they only let you use debit or credit if you spend over $10.

Fresh, Fresh, Fresh! They have a wonderful display of all of their merchandise organized in aisles. I really enjoy shopping here than 168 Market since they have higher quality items here. At 168, I found a lot of the items I bought were expired. Here at China Town Market, never. Not even once.

Why do majority Chinese markets smell like someone died there? Is it possible to keep places smelling nicely? Just can't shop in such conditions

Was there July 2nd. Fantastic produce and canned, bottled condiments. Tofu galore, Korean Rice Noodles. I pretended I was back in San Francisco. I wish they sold fresh pork though. Went again September 21, 2018. Check your receipt BEFORE you leave their computer overcharged $4.00 on one item. Not the fault of clerk, they are just mindless scanners like at Kroger. But at Kroger they offer self-checkout so you can easily avoid getting overcharged. China Town Market is convenient since I do my laundry in the same strip mall. But next time I will go to 168 Asian Mart.

Love this place. Lobster is always a great price here and their selection of other asian specific fruits and vegetables are always in stock either fresh or frozen... Large selection of fresh fish as well... Still feel sorry for the live 🐸 & 🐢. 😢
