What on earth is management doing to recruit more workers? This post office is always closed due to staffing shortage- and the workers can only do so much. Is usps collapsing?

Definitely the most consistently inefficient USPS I’ve ever encountered in the United States. There is always a line 7+ people deep that never seems to get any shorter, people always seem to have problems with their mail, and staff often seem disgruntled. The only reason I visit this one is because it has good hours and I can drop on my pre-paid packages and get out of there fast. I don’t know what the problem is with this location, but it’s been this way the entire 12 years I’ve lived in Kansas City. I hate to leave a post office a bad review, but people deserve a fair warning. If you need to get in and out in less than 30-40 minutes, go somewhere else.

I would give them 0 stars if I could. They lost a $6300 package of mine. The most incompetent government workers I have ever met. Every time I ask for help, they give me the runaround and tell me "be patient". My package literally disappeared with no trace, and it was after I dropped it off there. If I could sue them for damages, I would.

WHAT A JOKE!! This is by far the most unprofessional post office I have ever been to. The lady I spoke to on the phone is so rude and clearly doesn't know what she is talking about. She told me I had to come in and get the package, that USPS can't deliver to my house. So the next day I get time off work so I can get my package and the same lady is that I talked to on the phone tell's me that the package is being returned to the sender. Being confused I asked her if she was the one that I spoke to on the phone and she said yes and that I should have come in the day before. If you live in Westport and have to use this post office make sure to ask to speak to someone else if an old lady with a scratchy voice answers. She will only blame you for her own incompetence!

When your posted hours say you close at 5:00, that means you close at 5. Don’t be turning people away before 5:00. People drive all the way there depending on you being open when it says you will be. Shame on you! (This place almost always has the longest lines for a Post Office, as well. They never have enough people working behind the desk, despite the available cash registers.)

There have been several times now that I've gone to this Post Office during regular business hours and they've been closed without explanation. My customers rely on my access to the Post Office, so as as small business owner this is really disappointing.

EVERY POSTAL SERVICE IN MID TOWN OR THE INNER CITY IS I FESTED WITH UNMOTIVATED UNPROFESSIONAL WORKES RGAT HAVE THE MOST DISGUSTING ATTITUDE WHEN ALL YOU WANT IS A LITTLE HELP UNDERSTANDING THE PROCESS AND PROCEDURES. IT YOU CAN AVOID THESE BRANCHES THEN YOU WILL DEFINITELY PROTECT YOURSELF FROM THE ANGER AND FRUSTRATION MANY PEOPLE HAVE FELT WALKING OUT THESE ESTABLISHMENTS.

One person working over lunch hour which is the only time most people have to get something mailed. She was Very slow and didnt seem to know what was needed. Watched her keep making mistakes and waste at least 30 minutes of one poor old woman's time before I left. Line hadn't moved at all. Just bad staffing, bad service, bad training, you name it.

The hours of the store say they close at 5. I walked in at 4:20 and stood in line for 5 minutes before the woman at the front told us her register was closed and could only take a drop off. I just needed to tape my shipping label on so I asked if they had any tape so I could just drop it in the box. She was so rude and made a snarky comment to me when a simple “no” would have been enough. I truly have never met a post office worker that was not hateful, and she was the worst one yet. Spend the five extra minutes and drive to a different location.

This post office is so bad, it breaks my heart I may have to move out of Midtown-Westport; just to get a better post office that serves my neighborhood. For the meantime I'm literally going to use my job's address for regular mail. What a PITA I have been waiting on a mailbox key for a month now. I've got mail-forwarding from an old address to a new. The mail stopped way before it should have at the old address and now I can't get mail at the new. Go figure.. You'll wait in hour long lines. No matter the time of day. I went to try to get my mail the other day, lady working walked around back and talked with 2 other coworkers for 15 minutes! Came back said she couldn't find my key or ANY mail. I have informed delivery, I know I have mail.. I wish D.C. would kill this fail of a business, Amazon & UPS could deliver the mail a whole lot better.
